Congratulations, Watergate, awesome, but what else is there? I am mainly seeing endless stenography of power purchased by a certain amount of, shall we say, knob polishing. Decades of coasting on fumes in ways Nixon would've approved of.
I live in Puerto Rico. I have not seen ICE in the street where I live, but yes in the airport some time back. There’s going to be a demonstration against ICE today. Flights leave here daily removing immigrants. 😞
My armchair analysis of Supreme Court Retirement Watch is that I genuinely don't think Trump wanted or wants Alito or Thomas to retire, because Alito and Thomas are already the Trump administration's de facto representatives on the Court, and I'm not sure he could find anyone better
On this date in 1415 the battle of Agincourt took place. A fascinating bit of history that also gave us Shakespeare's masterpiece 'Henry V' and several glorious films.
Here are clips from 3 films showing the famous, delicious, rousing speech:
This I find very interesting
So they know of the Clark County, Nevada voters so far that equally 3% of Dems and 3% of GOP voted on Election Day.
Strongly suggests both no "cannibalization" from Dem EV strength as some have feared, but perhaps also that GOP turnout just sucks. No one is waiting.
Obama: "That well-known evil empire Canada. That historical adversary of ours. Canada! *laughs* It's your neighbor. It's a few minutes' drive over the bridge! These are the people who gave us Martin Short and maple syrup. They are the nicest people! And someone we've gotten them so mad."
Pancake lines in Japan pour batter into hot molds, then flip, cool and stack thousands of identical pieces per hour with no hands involved. Cameras reject the defects.
The NYT and FT report a $25B Alaska gas venture, discussed in the Witkoff-Kushner-Putin talks, was secretly financed by a sanctioned Russian company. Its CEO quit when he found out. ⛽🇷🇺
Remember this the next time someone says the real national security threat is a trans kid on a soccer team.
Mike Lawler’s very first vote in Congress was to help rich donors cheat on their taxes by firing IRS workers hired to make sure they paid their fair share.
And it added over $100B to the deficit in the process.
#TheRealMikeLawler will always put billionaires first, #NY17.
Trofimov is correct: the key takeaway from the FT's blockbuster story is that the Trump family and cronies were exercising direct private control over this massive Alaska project, and they were using that control to benefit the Kremlin. Plain as day. But NYT couldn't understand what was happening.

Here’s something you should know about minks:
They have lungs and airways remarkably similar on a cellular level to those of people.
They’ve spread flus and infected humans before with COVID-19.
Right now, bird flu is spreading on a Utah farm filled with thousands of them… 🧵

There's a scenario in which the Supreme Court gets this case in December and three justices involved in Bush v. Gore on behalf of Bush will be asked whether confusion is grounds to reject election results.
The Trump administration is preemptively suing to block Alaska from certifying a Mary Peltola victory, should she win.
Their argument is that the double Dan Sullivan thing is confusing voters. www.reuters.com/world/trump-...
BREAKING: The Trump administration sues to block Alaska Senate certification if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses as another candidate shares his name.
Trump admitting Russia & China aiding Iran. Iran waging war against U.S. & killed American military. Trump giving financial/economic support to Russia (lifting sanctions & diesel deal is latest). Clear violation of Constitution Article III, Section 3 Treason clause.
Trump is a traitor to the U.S.
Trump: "Russia could've done a lot more to help Iran. Russia has done very little for Iran. China could've done a lot more for Iran. And I remember that."

Earlier this week, I told @thebulwark.com that Witkoff was always trying to be Putin’s friend.
Today, he called Putin a “humanitarian.”
Putin sees this as weakness. These guys are in way over their heads.
@mcfaulmike.bsky.social on why Steve Witkoff’s attempts to befriend Putin:
"I can tell you from experience with that guy, he looks at that as weakness… He doesn't respect that. He just pockets your concession and then says, what are you gonna do for me the next time you visit?"
The Cambridge Police Review and Advisory Board reported two new complaints over police conduct had been filed between July and September in a quarterly report presented to the Cambridge City Council.

This is why you will need national legislation. And more coherent legislation rather than one-time levies. But state efforts are critical because they put the topic into the conversation. And generally 'neener neener' isn't good messaging from the billionaire class.
