This is a vastly oversimplification, but as a Trekkie, I often think that liberals are the ones who believe the needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few, whereas leftists understand that, as Captain Kirk did, at times the needs of the few to be fought for by the many.

Watched Slaxx for first horror film of the season. Great wee film with an ending that’s understandable in spite of the goofy premise. Horrendously dim lighting though especially since those sorts of shops are very bright.

Another way I feel that #Phenomena is genuinely subversive, in relation to its contemporaries -say Fulci's The Beyond, in its tarantula scene- is in it's treatment of insects as a symbol of discovery / comfort instead of fear / disgust like most horror #horror #film it's ironically, quite human

A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.
