CactusPuppy

I suppose I should introduce myself to this fine platform. (Thread) Hi! I’m CactusPuppy, and over the past five years, I’ve helmed some super cool projects in the Overwatch Workshop, including working with Emongg, KarQ, some Overwatch League teams, and even Blizzard!

It is gutting to feel I'd see greater success if I didn't care who I worked for, gave up on my morals, and embraced the latest harmful fad. Grifting has long been a thing, but at present it seems there aren't any consequences beyond one's own conscience and that it is the optimal way to make a buck.

So pinni-precious. 🥺🦭 Pupping season is winding down as summer begins, but the harbor seal spectacular is just getting started! So mellow out, settle in, and enjoy your day on the bay with the chill vibes of a sleepy harbor seal. 🏖️☀️

Took my good camera and a tiny £10 keychain camera to Italy. The cheap one looks so good that I’ve barely touched my proper camera.

It came to me in a dream

TIL that I can apply for temporary access to all of the New York Times' resources via my local public library. Public libraries are awesome. Support them, even if it's just using their resources so they can justify continuing to offer them.

Vibe coding? I prefer vibe cooking. Made this mushroom and spinach gnocchi with a side of air-fried chicken completely by vibing what I should add. Sauce too thin? Greek yogurt. Need some zing? Add some torn-up cheese. So much fun. Will try again in the future.

The horse op-ed is an instant classic. I can't tell you how much joy this piece gives me. It should be taught in every introductory writing class in no small part because the horse arguments are so compelling. "I have noticed that human children get to eat cake. But I am bigger than the children."

This is so, so well-articulated.

There is no solar power crisis. No wind power crisis. No insulation crisis. No heat pump crisis. No e-bike crisis. No electric bus crisis. But there is a #fossilfuel crisis. And a #climatecrisis.

Hey so this is fascism and the government officials promoting it are anti-American fascists

Seeing some chatter about Freja, Kiriko, and Lucio having a faster base speed in the latest #Overwatch patch. As far as my testing in both 5v5 and 6v6 customs shows, this is not the case. Freja, Lucio, and Kiriko still have a base 5.5 m/s move speed.

you know what? fuck it. theremin mode. github.com/samhenrigold...

we really gotta a handle on this whole internet thing, i'm starting to think it's getting out of control

It's SWORD OF THE SEA launch day! I'm SO happy to be sharing this one at long last! We started work on it 2021 & it's been a major labor of love that whole time. @giantsquidstudios.com @mattnava.bsky.social alway push to make something poignant, artful & unique and I only hope the music follows suit

I think the hardest truth I've had to learn as an adult is that sometimes good things do not happen unless you make it happen yourself.

don't talk to me or my meis ever again Bot AND player scaling now available in my toolbox, import code OVVVC! #overwatch

Words cannot express how grateful I am that I get to be a part of this D&D campaign. Just… thanks y’all.

it’s about money it’s about power we stay hungry because all the people growing our food got deported

I hope everyone knows that it's very easy for any social content platform, including Bluesky, to be a misery machine and that if you aren't intentional about it, they will absolutely decrease the positive impact you have on the world while making you less happy.

This is an exceptional piece for this moment in games.

Huge thanks to PlayOverwatch once again for commissioning me to make a mode AND flying me out to Seoul to attend the event live?! Anyways, I’ll be going live tomorrow at 1pm PT to talk about my experience leading up to and during the event! Feel free to stop by with questions! twitch.tv/cactus_puppy

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: public libraries are one of the best resources for a community full stop. It’s not just a place for books. My local library holds monthly D&D sessions, a 3D printer, and bikes for rent. That’s just scratching the surface too. Support your local libraries!

What if for Sombra’s major perks, she could choose between having unlimited hack but no translocator, or translocator, unlimited translocator, but no translocator

This has to be one of the best videos on YouTube, full stop. I won’t spoil it for you, but just know that even in an era awash with video essays with mind-numbingly similar editing, josh (with parentheses)’s video is incredibly novel. youtu.be/V5wLQ-8eyQI
