Happy ten year anniversary of the 2016 blackout in South Australia. I was told that as clean power grew in Aus, we'd see a blackout apocalypse. The chart below shows blackouts for generation shortfall as columns, and renewable proportion as a percent of the eastern grid. Enjoy :)

It is critical to understand how difficult it can be to remove the use of a computer program once a dependency on it has been created or normalized. The sale of many computer programs relies on the buyer or user not thinking this far out in time. lesscomputer.ca/computer-care/

@kevinr.free-dissociation.com feel free to say “I don’t work for free”; do you know of any good material on the trade offs of “public” network access v VNet/VPC only for orgs that don’t have any on-premises network at all? i.e. if you already have systems relying on auth what does IP routing change?

FRIENDS Here's my great big story about my experiences deep in the guts of the "wind turbine syndrome" debate. What I fucked up, what I learnt, and what it tells me about the growing fears around data centres and inaudible "infrasound" Make some tea, sit down, have a read (thread coming later) ❤️

github status page: "We have identified a regression in merge queue behavior present when squash merging or rebasing." reality: you merge a pr and a random sequence of commits on your main branch are reverted as part of the commit that actually lands. you are not told about this
