Our preprint now peer-reviewed and published πŸŒΎπŸ”¬πŸ§¬ Grasses have a signature short-long leaf epidermal pattern: small stomata & hair cells spaced by long pavement cells, but how is it built? Our work on the mechanoresponsiveness of actin is out! While plant microtubules have been extensively studied for their role in mechanobiology, actin has very much been ignored. Here we show that actin responds to cellular deformations within minutes and observed it in Marchantia and Arabidopsis!
