Still recovering from working our largest conference of the year, our super bowl of events. This is the one chance each year for most of my team to see each other in person, and we made the best of it. We worked hard, we played hard, we repped our team as best we could. Solid crew front to back.

Do I have any chronophiles following? I'm in the market for a chronograph, trying to find a balance between everyday wear (jeans and a T or hoodie) and professional use (ex: white button down, navy blazer, running security for a corporate event). With a different band, maybe something like this?

Two others I saw, strictly looking at design. You can see the overall look I'm thinking about, but that said, I don't do fashion. Looking for thoughts or recommendations.

There are credible allegations of rape against the president, and evidence his administration has taken steps to cover up his relationship with the world's most notorious pedophile. This story is being covered more aggressively by People Magazine than the NY Times, Wash Post, or Wall St Journal.

"Pumpkin" they were called. Or even "Honey Bunny". You ever hear that? Very strange names. Not American names.

Trump on DC: "Nobody wanted to eat out. They were afraid. Even if you were in the restaurant, people would walk in and like the Wild West, 'Hold it up!' Everybody is standing there. Can you imagine? A fancy restaurant. They were robbing the whole restaurant. It's crazy."

If any law enforcement agency - ICE or otherwise - can: - operate anonymously - send a American citizen with special needs to the hospital - flee the scene without any fear of accountability - all predicated on targeting the WRONG PERSON then we are living in a police state.

Kavanaugh stops in action: ICE tackled a non-verbal kid near his school, left him with injuries requiring surgery, and then left the scene when they realized he wasn't the person they were looking for www.independent.com/2026/10/23/i...

Blades, beef, and booze dominate male gift guides, and as a straight white guy I just want to throw this out there: ANYTHING with even a modicum of thought put into it will make our month. Notice we come into the office with a DD coffe everyday and get a gift card? Damn, I'm on cloud nine for DAYS

Clara Jeffery@clarajeffery.bsky.social

Man the lists for “suggested gift for male friends” is so bereft, it’s all wallet or headphones or booze. I pride myself on being a good gift giver and I will not be defeated.

Well, well, well…. An analysis of voter registration records reveals Republican operative Scott Presler had 3 out-of-state voters use his Pennsylvania address to vote in the 2024 election. This is what voter fraud looks like.

JUST POSTED: Today at The NYT we are publishing a major investigation into how President Trump used his executive powers to expose millions of Americans to greater cancer risks. A six month-long investigation built on more than 10,000 pages of FOIA records. Read it www.nytimes.com/2026/10/24/c...

nytimes.comHow Trump Gave the Worst Polluters a Free Pass (Gift Article)The president temporarily waived clean-air rules for industrial facilities that spew cancer-causing gases. Then his appointees worked to gut the regulations altogether.

Science, especially medical science, is indiscriminately good. Gay, straight, trans, Republican, dem, rich, poor, it doesn't matter. A breakthrough like this will save lives all the same. Deep down, I think this is why right-wingers hate it so much (ex: covid vaccine, stem cell research, etc)

Ana Marie Cox@anamariecox.com

Enormous news. A melanoma vaccine, one of the most deadly cancers out there. Science is good and helpful and there should be more of it. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2026/...

Of course UAE national security advisor Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who invested billions in Trump's crypto company in 2025, plays a role in this story

Huge follow-up reporting to my scoop: The Guardian confirmed America Next—the conservative nonprofit founded by Bobby Jindal that was offering students $ to disrupt El-Sayed events—paid a firm registered to Tommy Teepell’s dad Timmy $250k for “canvassing and influencer marketing” against El-Sayed.

And after all this, they continue to find activities not by super secret Antifa sleeper cells, but average citizens that just really fukin' hate ICE.

NEW: Chicago-area cops took part in an undercover probe by ICE agents into Minneapolis mutual aid networks last spring, records obtained by WIRED show, including unspecified electronic surveillance, audio recordings, ALPR data by @awinston.bsky.social

Again, none of this affects the strikes inside Russia, which don't rely on Starlink. This purely betrays soldiers on the frontlines, including American volunteers, holding off Russian invaders right now in the most brutal trench warfare Europe's seen in a century. You don't hate these two enough.

He's also ruined "grok," using it as he does for an LLM that fundamentally fails, on multiple levels, the entire concept of "grokking." But this is the Billionaire Way, naming shit for things in their favorite books in ways that the original authors would likely look on in horror

The National Zoo has come up with three possible names for a female red panda that is roughly 4 months old — and you can vote on her name for the next few days. Keepers say she’s bold and feisty and call her the “most vocal” of the trio of red pandas born earlier this year. https://wapo.st/4yniduq

Yet another example that loud, continued public protest and outrage can have direct results.

NBC News@nbcnews.com

President Trump overrules Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s plan to livestream the execution of a former Army officer convicted in a 2009 mass shooting, a reversal that followed an outcry from both Republicans and Democrats.

Would love to see a whole lot more of this energy from reporters.

I had a colleague years ago who argued that determining if something was racist was itself a racist, simply because race was being considered. That's how I view partisanship. I don't want news outlets to be nonpartisan. That shouldn't be part of their calculus. I want them to report straight truth

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

I simply do not trust anyone who willingly associates with the Republican party at this point. Anyone. ANYONE.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "The Republican Party, we believe that Somalia bandits, third-world gangs, and jihadist sympathizers do not belong in Ohio, they do not belong in America. We got to get them the hell out of here." More "De-port! De-port!" chants from the crowd.

I had an account there called KnowYourCrook dedicated to teaching people how to spot/avoid online scams, especially in the crypto space. Once blue verification checks could be bought, my account was suspended. Not just once, but three separate times. It was obvious then where things were headed.

Jacob T. Levy@jacobtlevy.bsky.social

I am way too online for my own good, and I had an unreasonably large twitter following, and I really *enjoyed* twitter for a lot of years, and yet leaving there and never looking back was maybe the easiest what-felt-like-a-big-ethical decision I've ever made.

For a scammer, $8 was a small price to pay to give their account legitimacy, algorithmic reach, and additional power over non-verified accounts (such as reporting them for "harassment"). Twitter didn't care what kind of content was being shared on the platform, as long as people were paying them.

Continuing the theme of posting old shots of knives I've forged, here's another favorite EDC of mine. 1084 steel, cocobolo handle, steel pins, and a kydex sheath. I originally set out to make a pikal karambit, dorked up the finger loop, and adapted. Years later, I still carry this one daily.

"...Talarico has never received treatment from Lindner Center of hope." Cool. Follow-up question though: who the shit cares if he had?

Another MAGA “citizen journalist” hoax debunked. Next.

Can't count how many times I've driven through Dover, NH and thought "holy hell, this place has turned AROUND!" And legitimately meant it... Then headed back out of town knowing I'd never live there again.

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

i know i’m getting old when i visit my hometown — which i was desperate to escape — and think, “you know, this place isn’t so bad”

Since I'm posting past forging projects, this is one of my favorite EDC utility knives I've made. 1084 steel, bloodwood, leather, and African blackwood handle with steel pins. Leather and kydex for the sheath.

I designed this one as a hiking/camping knife. Great for slicing/skinning, and chopping if held in two fingers at the base. Exposed steel on the pommel is something I've done on most of my knives, to give options for hammer fist smashing.

"incognito69420" is the actual email handle he used because OF COURSE it is. Dude is a walking parody of himself.
