I went through it with friends in the early aughts and in message boards on who was actually punk and who were posers. so it is embarrassing when I see people arguing over whether Turnstile meets their personal definition of hardcore. who cares?

for sure a band can change their sound and maybe it’s no longer for you. absolutely, but when it cornes to genres it’s goofy to argue over where a a band fits. especially when it comes to punk and hardcore, where it’s more than just about what the songs sound like.
