as a trans activist from Kansas, some of the most vehement pro-trans activists in the state are genuinely Christian pastors. the Dems in the State Legislature have way more pro-trans takes than this. he's saying this after my trans activist friends have spent like a week @'ing him. he can do better

When people like Anne Applebaum talk about the far-right they don't mean the Middle East because they exceptionalize the region so much that its developments exist outside time. The region is filled with far-right leaders that she happens to support.
In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

this is one area where Catholic clergy are I think firmly to the left of their parishioners, because if you're an American Catholic priest and you don't understand immigrants are keeping your parish alive, either your parish is dying or you're a racist on crack
this is not me saying the Catholic Church is progressive or anything but if Catholic clergy were still allowed to run for office there'd be a priest running in a D+12 seat whose comments about ICE singe your damn eyebrows off

the GOP establishment genuinely being a load-bearing moderating force and restraint on the party has led a lot of people into outright denial of the fact that the Dem establishment is, ideology aside, a bunch of juiceless idiot losers
Pretty funny that, in the lifetimes of just about anyone living, until 2016, successful Dem prez candidates were anti-establishment within their party and succesful GOP candidates were extremely establishment. They never had to *consider* this until Trump!

"But South Africa" I'm going to stop you right there. Afrikaner South Africans were a minority in their own country. Without support from Europe and the West they were doomed, as Rhodesia conclusively proved. And they were culturally European with no significant history of oppression in their past.

It’s actually INSANE that the DSCC is not putting any money into this race and everyone of those dumbasses should get fired by President Ocasio-Cortez

Ok Andy! This proves that 1. Talarico is a coward for his shitty answer on this. To a much lesser extent so is Hinojosa 2. Amy Acton and Marcy Kaptur just hate trans people. 3. No Democrat anywhere needs to run a single anti trans ad and can just say “trans people deserve civil rights”
NEWS — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear criticizes fellow Democrats who say transgender athletes should be barred from women’s sports. “That is not the party that we are. We start as a party of compassion and empathy.”
