I don't "want my country back" I want LAND BACK I want reparations I want white people to do the work I want us to confront our racism And sit with it I want us to become anti-racist I want us to destroy white supremacy With wild abandon And sharp white teeth That bite and never lose grip

Remember in the 60s and 70s cool cats would say "what it is", and you could dig that, but now all these squares are saying "it is what it is", and I hate it so much, it's a stone drag, meng

I’m literally down the rabbithole about this. Are they ‘dead’? Yes. Did they die? I mean, yeah, they’re not alive anymore and that’s a binary state. Did they experience ‘dying’? Possibly not! (but do people die in their sleep experience dying? Also possibly not!)

hour by hour I'm trying to raise $25. Yes I need to raise 2K, because I'm a disabled trans Indigenous mom with diabetes, but if 5 people donate 5$, that's a huge start. If you can't donate, please share, with everyone, and everywhere. And ask the people you share with to share it too. 1/2

The worst Ebola outbreak in the world is ongoing in the DRC and you’re not being informed about it in part because the reason it is spiralling is US politics. At least one person who was suffering from the disease crossed into Uganda by road and then flew from Kampala to Nairobi where he died.

Fascism is also about the pleasure of seeing unwanted bodies mutilated, tortured, killed. This has nothing to do with Hasan's crimes. It has to do with bringing back public lynchings. They're signaling to their base that they can now rejoice in the the death of undesirables.

I had a box of stuffing in my cupboard about to expire, and tried the meatball recipe where you make the stuffing, and mix it with a pound of ground turkey and an egg. They're good! Nice way to stretch out meat, and clear out your pantry.

I was freaked out by the transformation in "I Was a Teenage Werewolf", because Michael Landon was Little Joe to me, and I was too young to understand. Also when I saw the ST:TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror", particularly Spock. Had a nightmare. People not being who they seem is still a big fear for me.

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

I just took my red bean butter mochi out of the oven, and knowing it's going to take forever to cool is frustrating. I've made two versions of regular butter mochi, and chocolate butter mochi a few times, but this is my first azuki (I used ogura, which is the chunky one). Next up is black sesame!

I accidentally read an article on substack, just plain didn't notice and clicked the link. I will be sure to pay more attention in the future. It's depressing to me how many people I otherwise have a good opinion of are on there. And readers who just don't care. They platform Nazis. It's an easy NO.

I think if you unironically explain that you eat live worms every morning, the newspaper no longer has to use the respectful "Mr." in front of your name. In fact, the style guide should allow them to call you "Worm Boy" forevermore.

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.
