Devastated by the horrific attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego. There is no place for anti-Muslim hate in America. We must confront this violence and protect the right to worship safely. My prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.

It should be a huge scandal that a close confidante of, and adviser to, President Trump and Secretary Rubio reacted to a deadly terrorist attack at a mosque by calling the mosque "evil" and calling for the deportation of all Muslims from America. But it isn't. *sighs*

BREAKING: ICE killed a Minnesota woman in broad daylight & there must be accountability. But when I moved to subpoena all records & footage related to this murder, Republicans voted it down. They've never cared about law & order or keeping our communities safe.

I hate that these law enforcement heroes must relive trauma bc the Criminal in Chief and the Republican Party shamelessly LIE to millions of Americans. I am haunted by the ghosts of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those military operations initially went flawlessly but the problem was in trillions of $ spent, thousands of American lives, decades of lost opportunity. Americans have zero appetite for more nation building, endless quagmires.

So fmr Honduran President Hernandez voluntarily surrendered, and was duly extradited, tried and convicted for drug trafficking, and Trump pardoned him 6w ago. And this morning, Trump illegally attacks Venezuela and abducts its president and his wife purportedly to try them for drug trafficking.

Zelensky lands in Miami. Not a single US official is on hand to greet him. In the language of diplomacy this send an unequivocal message of coldness and hostility. Compare it with the lavish pomp and red carpet shown to Putin when he landed in Alaska a few weeks ago.

Seems there is yet another app using the ICEBlock logo and charging people for access. It’s called ICEBlocker and it is not us. DO NOT DOWNLOAD or pay. Best we can tell is it’s Russian. We would never ask for money.

🇨🇦 🇺🇦Canada will provide Ukraine 2.5 billion Canadian dollars - funds intended to unlock financing from the IMF, World Bank, and EBRD to begin the reconstruction process. This was announced by Prime Minister Carney. He also condemned Russia’s overnight attack on Kyiv. Thank you Canada ❤️

Trump let George Santos out of jail just to make it clear that if you're loyal to him, you can get away with anything. This isn't a democracy if one man decides what's a crime and what isn't. Time for everyone to wake up. This moment is more serious than many want to believe.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.

Jonathan M. Katz@katz.theracket.news

Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” will spend more than $50 billion per year privatizing public schools in America.   We should not have a two-tier education system — private schools for the rich & well-connected, severely underfunded public schools for low-income & working class kids.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

MORAN: What does it (the Declaration of Independence) mean to you? TRUMP: It means exactly what it says; it's a declaration of unity, love and respect and it means a lot. It's something very special to our country.

My family found a home here after fleeing the pogroms in Ukraine. This country accepted us as refugees when we had nothing except the shirts on our backs. We've seen what can happen when we don't speak up about the dangers — it's time to raise the alarm now.

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

More than 50,000 people in Gaza are dead. 114,000 have been wounded — two-thirds of whom are women & children. The entire infrastructure has been destroyed. Much of that devastation has been done with bombs that the U.S. supplied to the Netanyahu war machine. We are complicit.

The Netanyahu government has killed 50,000 people in Gaza & wounded 112,000. Two weeks ago, they broke the ceasefire and have since killed 322 children & wounded 600. The US must end its complicity. Tomorrow, I will force votes to block $8.8 billion in arm sales to Netanyahu.
