When I tell people I work in insurance, they usually give me the stink eye and I completely understand. I'm in a unique position where I actually help commercial clients, from small to medium sized businesses. I do everything I can to advocate for them, including fighting carriers on claim decisions

In the 11 years I've worked in property and casualty insurance, I have never seen the industry push terrorism insurance like they are now. For those who don't know, TRIA was established after 9/11 and does not cover domestic terrorism, only "certified acts of terrorism" from foreign adversaries.

We have never had another incident since 9/11, so most people don't buy the insurance, and it's never been something that was pushed on any client. But for some reason brokers are in a frenzy to sell the insurance right now. It makes me think they know something the rest of us don't.

Today I yelled at my grandma with dementia because she said the reason we have rampant homelessness is there are too many people and not enough resources. And I shouldn't have, she's sick and she never would have said that ten years ago. It just really gets to me when people say things like that.
