Another presser when Natalie Nakase makes a reference to vulnerability. She noted how the vulnerability of her players aided her game adjustments. Brené Brown says "vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change." That's exactly what happened here for GSV.

Natalie Nakase said something in her postgame presser that really stuck out to me. Maybe this is because I've been listening to *a lot of* Brené Brown and her teachings lately, but Nakase isn't afraid to talk about vulnerability and its benefits. She values vulnerability.

This was such a STRANGE game. The Dream won the possession battle 65-61 but the Dream were turned over 17 times which led to 21 Golden State Valkyries points. The Valks once again are beat the Dream at their own game and held ATL to under 30 percent shooting.

you knew the moment the semifinals started that game 3/4/6 days needed to be open at either Barclays or State Farm -- how did it not get addressed until three days out?

BREAKING: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be held Thursday at 12:30pm ET at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. It will be a double-header with the Atlanta Hawks’ game, which will be moved to 8pm.

INBOX: The very first women's basketball without borders Next Up Camp is taking place Singapore from November 18-21 in partnership between the #WNBA and FIBA. The camp will be directed by Fire GM Vanja Černivec and Celtics VP Allison Feaster. Participants include WNBA players and coaches such as:

One proposal would move Game 6 to Friday, Oct. 30 and Game 7, if necessary, from Saturday, Oct. 31 to Tuesday, Nov. 3. That would mean three days between each of Games 5/6 and 6/7. The WNBA would support that proposal, but only if both teams agree to it, sources said.

There will be a Game 6 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta. But nobody knows yet where or even when the game will be played despite a furious round of negotiations spilling into Sunday between the WNBA, NBA, Valks, Dream and Hawks. What we know, with @ramonaespn.bsky.social www.espn.com/wnba/story/_...

Insane stat. *Nineteen* field goal attempts in a half. Only one time in the last 18 years has a team had fewer than 50 field goal attempts in a WNBA playoff game. Atlanta are currently on pace for under 40. #WNBA

Randy Buehler@rbuehler.bsky.social

40 shot attempts for GS, 19 for Atlanta!!

The possession battle has what has powered the Valks. They are up 42-26 and have taken 21 more shots than the Dream. 21 more shots. Sue Bird noted on the broadcast that it was the zone defense without Kiah Stokes on the floor that really frustrated the Dream.

Having said all that, this is mostly just Golden State being successful by focussing on what and who they are, sticking to it, and if anything heightening it. Atlanta have 20 points and 10 turnovers in 17 minutes. You're basically not beating anyone with those rates. #WNBA

The Dream are absolutely playing a step slower and the Valkyries are taking advantage and playing the Dream's own game. The Dream turned the ball over 7 times and that has led to 9 Valkyries points. But also: It's still just a 5 point game going into the second quarter.

I love how hard these Dream intros go. Forget just height, college, and name, every home team should be doing this combo bio/slam poetry thing.

I walk laps in Maria Hernandez Park as much as I can to try to exercise, and today was the first time that I saw someone on the basketball court using a #WNBA ball while wearing a W tee to just casually shoot hoops. To be clear, Buskwick is ways away from the Barclays Center.

Turnover watch with 5:51 left in the fourth quarter with ATL up 80-65. Valks: 17 which have led to 22 ATL points (over 27% of ATL's points). Dream: 9 which have led to 7 GS points.

Jackie Powell@classicjpow.bsky.social

Turnover watch here in game 3 midway through the second quarter: Valks: 7 which have led to 9 ATL points. Dream: 2 which have led to 0 GS points.

It's so impressive how poised and composed the Atlanta Dream are especially in moments when Golden State sees some shots fall. The Valks tied it at 49 but it looked like it didn't even phase ATL. Under two minutes later, the Dream responded with a 9-0 run.

The third one was too. Reese rolling down the lane, Ceci trying to hold her up, Stokes not switching out onto Hillmon because she assumes she's still on Reese once she stops covering the drive, Hillmon wide open, triple. You need a triple-switch there, or at least to talk to each other. #WNBA

Richard Cohen@richardcohen.bsky.social

Both those Hillmon threes in part because GSV are now so terrified of Reese in the paint. Side effects beyond the individual stat line. #WNBA

Halfway through the first, the score is 8-1, Dream you've read that right. I know there's a lot of game left, but the same theme has remained: The Dream seem to just to be able to find some offense when shots aren't falling. The Valkyries continue to struggle on that front.

So the points off turnovers have ballooned here for ATL. Going into the fourth the Dream have scored 19 points off 15 Valks turnovers.

Angel Reese told the broadcast that the Dream are playing a bit more like themselves today and I agree. They have rebounded better and scored more points off of turnovers than the Valks, although the margins are quite thin. ATL leads by just a score 39-37 going into the third.

Ah we've got "Ironic" playing now in the Chase Center and I love how loudly it's playing so we can hear at home.

Very thankful for USA Network for letting us watch Alanis Morissette sing the anthem. She made it her own of course.

It looks like both teams are using the bench a bit more in #WNBAFinals game 2 especially since the turnaround to ATL is quite quick for game 3. The Valks are 11 deep meanwhile the Dream have played three players coming off the bench.

The E! Live from the Orange Carpet show just ranked the top 8 looks from the #WNBA season. I understand I have a bias because I’m in the New York Market, but I was really surprised not to see Breanna Stewart on this list.

And I’m referencing the orange carpet show that is the first of its kind and I hope it’s not the last.

Jackie Powell@classicjpow.bsky.social

Really smart programming here from E! USA Network to give viewers who maybe don’t know a lot of #WNBA history a little bit of a recap.
