Fox News: “Susan Collins votes with the president 95% of the time. She saved Brett Kavanaugh with that speech on the Senate floor.”
I’m Graham Platner and I approve this message.
One candidate is bashing their opponent for ties to Trump and that opponent is bashing her for her ties to...local unions. Really says it all, doesn't it? I, for one, am going to be ranking Janeese
New: Campaign finance may be a nerdy issue, but it’s generating fireworks in the mayor’s race.
@janeese4dc.bsky.social is slamming @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social over his contributions from Trump donors. He’s bashing her ties to local unions and the OCF probe into them.

One interesting name among McDuffie's donors: Jeff Wall, Trump's former solicitor general and personal lawyer.
JLG has been hitting McDuffie in debates over taking money from Trump donors: her allies found 22 have given his campaign about $4k (and given Trump about $193k)
The latest fundraising numbers are coming in: @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social raised about $139k last month, bringing his total cash on hand to $1.7 million. He expects his total haul to be about $3 million, to date, including when you factor in public money.
No report yet from the Lewis George camp…
My friend Sleepy needs more friends and more support. If you see this can you please give her a follow and be her friend? She could really use help right now.
whole states have stopped their election processes faster than the Biden administration was able to respond to an opinion that had already been leaked months earlier.
i don't mean this as a random jab; republicans just understand power in a way that dems do not.

interesting thing is that a lot of people keep speculating that graham platner is going to have a “john fetterman” pivot but fetterman and platner have been openly feuding back and forth for months now
My goal is to build 72K new homes in 5 years.
When Marion Barry said he was going connect youth to summer jobs, they said it was impossible. They said that about Vincent Gray's plan for Universal Pre-K.
That's what leaders do. They set ambitious plans and make it happen.
Ward 7 Dems / WUSA9 debate 🧵
This campaign is about a simple question: Who do you trust to show up and fight for all of us in all 8 wards.
My record: Blocked extreme rent increases, banned utility shutoffs after Pepco overcharged us, and put money in the pockets of families by expanding EITC.
ICYMI — “No one wants to fight for Israel!”
Marine veteran Brian McGinnis had his hand injured as AIPAC-backed Senator Sheehy (R) & joined Capitol Police officers in physically removing him as he spoke out against Trump and Bibi’s war.

POSTER: In my post I invented the Don’t Misunderstand the Torment Nexus Metaphor as a cautionary tale
CTO: At long last, I have misunderstood the Torment Nexus Metaphor from the classic post Don't Misunderstand The Torment Nexus Metaphor
"Torment Nexus" comes from this tweet and is often used now to describe the kind of negative experiences you can have with social networks, like getting dogpiled or harassed or being pushed into conflict
If you are an anti-imperialist who is active in opposing American imperialism abroad and the genocide in Gaza, I will not critique you for taking a consistent anti-imperialist stance. But if you are merely a liberal, who generally supports the Dem establishment, your faves have all done worse.
He literally willingly aided and abetted the genocide of the Palestinian people. A genocide he could have stopped at any point.
I hope he feels a fraction of the pain he’s caused this world.

Studying Military Doctrine, & it’s very apparent that the American military is a paper tiger in 2025. It’s flag officer corps filled with mediocre “military family”nepo-babies, no substantial innovation or adaptation in decades. Politically too divided to mobilize against a peer.
Soviet Deep Operations, Chinese Guerrilla and Active Defense Doctrines, the American defeat to the Houthis + use of drones in Ukraine are all more worthy of study. The United States will fragment and collapse politically before it even has a chance to be defeated militarily.
As Trump ratchets up towards Martial Law, it’s worth remembering he is simultaneously the gutting the Military’s operational capabilities and the state’s strategic capabilities. For all its trillions, the US Military would crumble as a domestic occupation force.
If your conception of Democracy is the United States or the UK then you have no idea what democracy even is. Those are not democratic societies and they are less free and more authoritarian than the socialist societies you mentioned as well.
Another dividing factor is the level of electoral discipline and standards you are willing to impose on endorsed candidates. SMC, the furthest right “viable” DSA caucus, basically resists all accountability, but GW, a center right caucus has expressed some openness after AOC’s Iron Dome comments.
This is not really correct, or at least you’re being a bit dishonest here. There are pockets of the DSA left who don’t think running candidates at all is useful but they are a rump faction these days. The main division is running on the Dem Ballot line always or occasionally indie campaigns.

If you think that:
- Most cities should elect a Zohran
- Most cities are right of NYC
- Socialist messaging works best on cost-of-living issues
- It's better to run a viable candidate and win (or lose closely) than lose badly (or not run)
Then congrats, you're on the DSA Right.
Genocide was the main reason 2020 Biden voters in swing states stayed home in 2024. (www.imeupolicyproject.org/postelection...) Half of Biden voters were calling the genocide a genocide as early as January 2024.
Yeah and that’s a good thing because the system doesn’t work. It serves the wealthy only. Direct public anger against the rich. Foster it. Tear them down, to stop fascism.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: President Trump's Justice Department and FBI have concluded they have no evidence that Jeffrey Epstein blackmailed powerful figures, kept a "client list” or was murdered, according to a memo detailing the findings obtained by Axios.
