Hi! Since others are talking about my book, thought I'd share a little about it. The book is a love letter to women everywhere wondering why their time just isn't adding up. It turns out, it's not you! We are getting massively squeezed by structural changes! 🧵 www.amazon.com/Having-All-T...

I don’t even have words for the Acton ad. Survivors live in fear of their abusers—or those who enable them—harming them again. And for good reason. Abusers offered that platform will take it, no matter how many years have passed.

I am so bereft. This little angel was killed by police for NOTHING. There was ZERO reason to shoot into that vehicle. CNN had a use of force expert who was like, if the vehicle was moving toward officers "the best practice would have been for them to get out of the way." www.cnn.com/2026/10/19/u...

Colette Delawalla, PhD@cdelawalla.bsky.social

This is Kohen Wiley. He was killed by police in Mississippi after his mother was accused of shoplifting…DIAPERS. His mother lifted him up to show police there was a baby in the car. The officers shot him OVER A BOX OF DIAPERS.

Wow good for her.

STUNNED, honored, and grateful that my new lab at Wharton has been selected as a Workplace Innovation Now (WIN) Challenge awardee! With the support of the WIN Challenge, we are officially launching the Wharton Workplace Futures Lab! The lab will study how to make workplaces work for working parents-

Launching new research collaborations with firms (DM me!) to replace tired narratives about women at work and replace them with real evidence, real solutions, and real change! It will also house my work on empowering the global workforce of the future. And we are hiring! For pre-docs and a post-doc!

Just finished listening - AMAZING. Thank you @corinnelow.com! Best self help/business school class I’ve ever taken. Highly recommend to all the working moms and aspiring moms trying to figure out how to #HaveItAll. I only wish Corinne was the reader for the whole book though #YaelRizowy is awesome.

Cool cool cool, push alerts from Draft Kings sent right after a reporter mimicking a problem gambler set limits on his account.

ProPublica@propublica.org

11/ Finally, I decided to set in-app limits on how much I could deposit and how much time I could spend on the app. I then received the first of four promotional push alerts just half an hour later.

These people found a baby goat trapped in a pit. They took him home and cared for him overnite. The next day they tried to find the owner but had no luck. While looking - they found a group of goats with the same white fur. Then this happened. Original post

I think this is such an important point. All the arguments about trans athletes talk about trans girls for a reason. When you're talking about trans boys they fall flat!!

ghost malone ergo propter bones@proptermalone.bsky.social

the most famous high school trans athlete in Texan history is by a significant margin Mack Beggs, who pretty clearly would have made everyone happier had he wrestled other boys like he wanted to, and that would also have been better for safety and for fairness

#EconSky if you know of anyone awesome who does experimental work on gender who was on the job market in the last couple years and underplaced or needs to change, we're looking at creating a fellowship in this area that would be a great reset--please have them email me corlow@wharton.upenn.edu.

There are four overlapping scandals here: 1. Fundraising spam tactics are hallmarks of elder financial exploitation 2. The Dem establishment is in on it 3. Most of what is raised goes to fundraising consultants 4. Capitulation to legal threats by NYT and The Bulwark on a fully vetted story 🧵👇

data4democracy.substack.comHook and SqueezeHow Democratic consultants, committees, and party leaders built a fundraising spam pipeline that funnels money from a captive pool of elderly donors into their own operations.

This makes me think of Odysseus's men. How awful.

There have reportedly been multiple attempts by sailors to jump overboard the USS Abraham Lincoln as poor conditions and mental stress reach a breaking point. The crew is in its ninth month at sea, and has spent 250 days consecutively without making land, a record

10 years later, the little (two week!!!!) intervention that could is still going strong 🥰

Cool study by @corinnelow.com with Nava Ashraf, Natalie Bau, and Xiaoyue Shan on how teaching girls negotiation skills can benefit them & where they live. Research was done in Zambia, benefits were 9x cost, as girls stayed in school longer & married later. knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/article/how-...

The legal definition of a concentration camp is a place where civilians are held without due process. That is what Dilley is and all of these places where people are held captive simply for who they are. Close the concentration camps. Free the families. Bring them home.

So many immigrants I've interviewed break down about this. You what now while what now?? This man is admitting he climbed into the backseat to look for his phone while his car was on autopilot, and this is the version that makes it not his fault???

Murshed Zaheed@murshedz.bsky.social

👀 #49ers Coach Shanahan tells reporters his Tesla was on autopilot before his July 11 accident and he doesn't know whether it malfunctioned or he accidentally turned it off when he retrieved his phone from the backseat. Well …

I wrote in TIME about how the government is not pulling its weight in my household. "I would love to be able to cut loose as a parent. To do that, I need to know the government will handle the air, water, pandemic, and diarrhea-causing parasites, while we do the parenting." time.com/article/2026...

Has he even SEEN the latest season of Bridgerton? (As an economist studying assortative matching, this is not and has never been true. Men have never been picky about sexual pairing, but marital matching is another story.)

Judah Grunstein@judah-grunstein.bsky.social

"I want to touch on what you said: .. the economic challenges facing young people impact men and women. One hundred percent true. But this is the bottom line, and I don’t think we like to admit this: Beyoncé could work at [KFC] and marry Jay-Z. The opposite is not true." I heard the record scratch.

This is how married Rep Chuck Edwards invited a staffer to an Adam Sandler show. The assembled puzzle says, in part, "my track record with you for comedy is not very good"--alluding to past sexual harassment I'm sure!! Being a young woman in any profession is EXHAUSTING.

Chris Hayes@chrislhayes.bsky.social

This just might be the most psychotic act of sexual harassment I’ve ever seen. Not the worst per se, or most menacing but in terms of sheer insanity it’s really up there.

This should be an enormous scandal, and grounds for impeachment.

An author friend who is a "turn your smart phone into a dumb phone and avoid the news" kinda guy just sent me his latest newsletter article to beta read, and quoted Musk from the Tesla days (plus throwback Thiel!!). I was like, um buddy you may not want to do that. Him: why, what happened?
