Excited to share our new preprint! 📜 Here, we used CALVADOS and ultra-CG models to show how the kinetochore establishes a robust attachment to the dynamic microtubule end. Spoiler: IDRs 🧵 1/n www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Another day, another account peddling this bullshit. They don't realize this just permanently entrenches car infrastructure, forced car dependency, and all the waste and pollution that comes with it. Basic critical thinking makes it easy to distinguish greenwashing from actual good policy.

The takeaway for cities: “The best bang for your buck is protected bike lanes,” Moran told Bike Talk‘s Nick Richert. “Really focus on bike infrastructure that’s protected. That’s how you grow ridership. That’s how you diversify ridership.” sf.streetsblog.org/2026/07/08/s...

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users. ALL ROAD USERS. What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them. Via @usa.streetsblog.org @nyc.streetsblog.org

“The city’s transition away from the car, tho fantastically chaotic, has become a global role model. Under mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social, Paris was ‘the most influential city in the world’ says Canadian urbanist Brent Toderian. Hidalgo, stepping down after 12 yrs, exulted: ‘The bike beat the car.’”

To answer everyone's question: Yes, this is bad for the suit, as water can shrink the different layers inside at different rates (face cloth, haircloth, canvas, and padding). If this happens, the damage can't be reversed. That said, I admire his commitment to wearing a suit at all times.
New York City residents are celebrating the reopening of public pools — including Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who jumped into the water while wearing a suit at an East Harlem pool on Saturday. Outdoor public pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day through Sept. 13.

Mamdani on Knicks watch parties: "This city is unique is that you can walk across the city. You can actually be outside and not have to drive everywhere, and part of that does give rise to these opportunities to be with people who you don't even know, never met."

As the Son of a Dad who owned bodegas for over a decade in the Bronx growing up, I can relate. IT'S AN AWESOME NICKNAME! I did not realize that Bodega Kat is actually part Dominican as his Mom was from the Domican Republic! He obviously has frequented many a "bodega" growing up in Jersey! #BodegaKAT
Bodega KAT as a nickname might never be topped
