What started as a junior high school scribble in 1995, evolved into my oldest robot character named Clutch. While he's gone through different names and designs, today in an effort to revive him and find a new direction, I wanted to introduce Clutch to my followers. πŸ™ #VarcoHelix #ArtRobot

PageRank was patented. Social media is beholden to the tyranny of network externalities. Phones? Laptops? Where do you even start on the roadblocks to that? But anyone with enough money can make a language model as good as GPT-3 from scratch in probably about a month, and then you go from there.

My final copyright video explainer of term as I'm almost done teaching. This is for Like Company v Google. Opus 5.5 is perfect for stuff like this, particularly if you guide it and provide the sources yourself. This one is still ongoing.

Yep, forgot to miss this. #couchcurations

Dolly Parton, among a thousand other amazing things she did in her life, gifted over 330 million books to kids through her Imagination Library program. Her passing is a tremendous loss to the world, but you can support the program today to keep it going imaginationlibrary.com

I do think anyone who wants us to take Elizer Yudkowsky seriously as an authority on AI armageddon should be forced to testify on video that they have read the entirety of his 660,000 word rationalist Harry Potter fan fiction – written aged 30–34 – and still thinks the world needs his take.

Honestily what is worse is that somw days I am scared of these people. Scared that because of my disabilities and the needs that acompany them, they will keep on with the path they are going on and justify discriminatory action beyond this topic despite what they claim their views to be

One of the more frustrating aspects of engaging in AI policy is that many things about the internet or technology in general have been suddenly thrust into the spotlight due to AI, and people instinctually rally against them without any regard for the collateral damage.

Re:Create Coalition@recreatecoalition.bsky.social

Journalists have used web scraping for 20+ years to expose corruption, track lobbyists, and reveal discrimination. Crawler bans like the Stealth Bot Prohibition Act risk cutting off tools newsrooms use to hold power accountable. Our infographic explains why ➑️ recreatecoalition.org/infographic/...

Agreed, and would further add: the frontier labs tooting the "DOOM" horn in compromised bad-faith pseudo-opposition *also* are acting from similarly corruptive rent-seeking incentives.

SE Gyges@segyges.bsky.social

a lot of opposition to AI is rent seeking, and the material incentives of being a rentier, even a small time one, lead you towards fascist conclusions from first principles

we would not actually know how and why either CSAM or heroin or burning plastic is bad and affects victims/drug users without actual studies involving their impact. you cannot just from-first-principles every single possible issue.

It is absolutely bananas that one of the most prominent anti-AI experts in America is talking like this. Talking to ChatGPT isn’t like doing heroin or downloading child porn. It will not hurt you and has no ethical valence. It will help you understand the nature of something that is now endemic.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

Sometimes you have to express skepticism of other concepts foundherently and let go of the and go zining through the non-fictional essaying. Ain't gonna sex work it up. I'm not really in that kind of mood right now.

Put this on my reading list #couchcurations

My new essay on Marxism and artificial intelligence! I show using the negative materialism of semiotics why we should take AGI and AI safety seriously, and also examine this new phase of class struggle through Marx's political economy. cosmonautmag.com/2026/10/marx...

being a regular AI toucher since like GPT-3... I wouldn't say necessarily "oh if you're not using this you're being left behind", the loss of interaction over time is less well defined I'd say it's been like watching a kid grow up into an upstanding individual, but along with all the weird quirks
