Dabbles in paint and charcoal now and again, proud granddaughter of a Suffragette. Lucky enough to live in leafy North London. Older but certainly none the wiser.

A government minister giving a credible answer on #Brexit so offends Nick Robinson that he asks a spurious question, a snide comment on an #ITV #CurrentAffairs rival, then moves on to a new subject with no time to respond. The pro-Reform bias is glaring. #R4Today audiences deserve better.

#r4today is interviewing Nigel Farage today on UK betrayal of whatever, by anyone else other than himself. Just STOP #bbcnews giving a platform to the party polling in 3rd place

Can we have the Harry Kane piece overrun so there's no time to Farage please? We'd much rather hear about an Irish heritage lad from a multicultural area who has worked hard than some overprivileged racist grifter. #r4today

It's easy to mock Andy Burnham choosing to fix small annoyances when Britain has so many huge issues. I get the sentiment. At the same time, as he fixes more and more and more small annoyances, it does start to boost positive feeling.

Why do commentators keep pushing idea winning a GE means your secure as a PM? if last 15 years have taught anything it’s politics in a social media age is never stable & if the PM was smart he would use the huge majority Starmer won than risk a lame duck government with no overall control #r4today

Since his ennoblement in Boris Johnson’s 2023 resignation list, Tees Valley regional mayor Lord (Ben) Houchen has claimed more than £25,000 in tax-free daily “attendance” allowances from the House of Lords for 73 days when he hasn’t voted, spoken or performed any recorded parliamentary activity.

Amazingly one sided piece #bbcr4today on Burnham and Brexit. So much negativity. No mention however of the problems he would have from pro EU folk (MPs and others) if he doesn’t move towards EU to undo the deep economic damage Brexit is doing

@CreativeCamden reposted

Dear #bbcr4today I must have missed it. You;'ve had an MP and soon also Farage on to diss any talk of moving closer to EU. Given public opinion is currently over 60% in faviour of it, where are the balancing talking heads that back Burnham and the suggestion? Surely you have booked some?

This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

@c4news.bsky.social Shocking scenes of Civil Defence teams excavating bodies from the devastation in #Gaza No one can justify the sheer scale of what they are dealing with and the inhumanity that has led to this. Every buidling within sight is flattened. Just a mass of concrete blocks and dust.

Can someone explain to me like an idiot why the Advertising Standards Authority shouldn't cover ads on YouTube? Just all lies and scams. Seems like a good potential Burnham change.

Nice to hear yet another Reform party political broadcast on BBC Radio 4’s Today prog. Tice given free range to repeat party slogans ad nauseum, mostly unchallenged. 🙄

Good to see democracy is defeating these forces around the world. In his acceptance speech Lula said” digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro

Once again Justin weak Webb R4 Today prog let’s R Tice Reform run free this morning. No serious questioning over Reform unworkable policies. It was so obvious Webb was once again giving Reform a platform and tomorrow the BBC R4 will slaughter either Burnham or Davey in their vote Reform bias.

Andy Burnham tells Good Morning Britain ”We’re way away” from rejoining the EU and he is not proposing rejoining within this Parliament. But Burnham says there has been a “harder Brexit” than the Leave referendum campaign promised. “I think we can make it better”.

Lula: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. A crime in the digital world must be treated the same as a crime in the real world. We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."
