Yeah, what the well-heeled pundits are missing — which is wild, because it's been a decade! — is that the kitschiness is the point. Fascists LOVE kitsch. I wrote about this in 2019. Bad, corny taste is how they reassure themselves they are the herrenvolk. www.salon.com/2019/12/25/h...
i come from Cheesecake Factory people and let me assure you, people who LIKE the Cheesecake Factory do not consider it "fancy"

I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.
I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

She’s as craven as every other Republican colleague, and more duplicitous. I hope we only have a few months left of her bullshit before she’s dispatched to the dustbin of history.
One of the saddest developments of this year’s U.S. Senate campaign in Maine has been watching Susan Collins, a senator once renowned for civility and decency, embrace the Maine Wire’s sickening racism and vulgar politics. www.pressherald.com/2026/10/26/s...
Leaving Twitter the day Musk acquired it was a no-regrets decision. Today would be another fine day to abandon that toxic dump.
Elon Musk aggressively pushes Twitter subscribers to switch from "chronological" to "algorithmic" feeds. Once this choice is made, the subscriber will find his account instantly flooded with right-wing political propaganda that reflects the thinking of Elon Musk, a Nature study has concluded. Musk's

US Republicans have so many murders on their hands.
Among the children murdered by Russians yesterday due to the White House having cut Ukraine's ability to take down Russia's jet drones, 11-year-old Arina Koval. Her mother Lilia and brother Artem were also targeted in a public park in Kharkiv, but survived, now fighting for their lives in hospital

. . . for reelection. I think it ought to be. It's part of the MAGA right's broader pattern of excusing and glorifying violence against protesters, activists, and political opponents. If you agree, I hope you'll help amplify Whitney Mitchell's message. Should have this up on most platforms soon.

Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...
Great closing argument. I hope every Dem candidate repurposes this and commits to breaking these criminal and enabling Republicans thru every path available to them.
Ossoff: "It's the most corrupt administration of all time & everybody knows it. While the crook president & his crook family rake in billions from all over the world, you pay more for everything... they lied us into war & spent most of the last year covering up for the world's most famous pedophile"

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

We've got to nationalize SpaceX. We have no choice. We can't operate our military without them and we can't trust them to serve our national interest. There is literally no other option.
The United States is actively helping Putin murder civilians in Ukraine. Trump is doing everything he can to force Ukraine to surrender to his friend and ally Putin so they can be subjugated by the Russians again.

Elon Musk has given Republican campaigns $650 million – MORE THAN HALF A BILLION DOLLARS – in the last few years. He's not doing it to make Americans more free. He's doing it to make Americans his serfs.

This is exactly what ICE said: "Parra-Hernandez ran in front of an ICE vehicle and was struck." Now watch the video. They're no other word for it: They're lying.
Watch an ICE agent run down and then run over a man. The man was was then writhing on the ground, saying "You broke my leg! You broke my leg!" Agents didn't help him. And btw, the man wasn't the target of their operation.

As Mainers prep to vote, don’t forget that Susan Collins voted to hand your borrowed billions to ICE so they can wear these gloves at your next local protest. Perhaps someone in your family will experience this immediate pain.
Recently unearthed records show that, in one set of trials carried out by the US Army, the electric shock gloves caused “overwhelmingly immediate” pain to soldiers in a mock forced cell extraction scenario, who then reported that “just seeing the glove” frightened them into obedience.

“There was zero plan, except causing pain,” said one U.N. official about the Trump administration’s decision to stop funding the group with no notice or communication. “And that is not forgivable.” (Published Dec. 2025)

Ossoff: "They've unleashed federal agents to kill Americans on the streets of our cities with impunity. That's Mike Collins's immigration policy. And that's what you'd expect from the bigot congressman who called for executed immigrants by throwing to their deaths out of helicopters."

Russia’s latest attack killed at least 28 people across Ukraine as Trump announced a call with Putin on his birthday. Attacks on Saudi airports killed 3 people. Washington’s language on Iran’s nuclear demands shifted, while WHO pressed Russia for answers about a laboratory worker’s death.
Dozens of criminal acts by the President and his hoard of grubby rumpswabs, every feckin day
New, from me: Kimberly Guilfoyle was caught soliciting money for government favors. Normally we call that a bribe. If she is corrupt, it is only because she has adapted to Trump's corrupt environment, where everything is for sale. 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/stop-paper...
Every one of these filthy criminals is compromised either by T or Putin. That includes the President, who will lick Putin’s boots daily to avoid the kompromat from being exposed. The post-death stories are going to be endless.
Kimberly Guilfoyle was preparing for her congressional hearing to become U.S. ambassador to Greece when she reached out to a Trump donor with an urgent request: She needed $100,000 that she said she owed American Express—in a way that wouldn't leave a paper trail.
