I mean... arson is not a political news story unless you make it one. The failing French education system, though, is, and the arson doesn't lessen the validity of the protests, as bad and wrong as it is. Did you also whine about people raiding supermarkets during BLM?

Like, what do you expect people to say? "Those rioters sure are all arsonists and therefore wrong" or just "whoever burnt down the town hall should get arrested"? Because the latter goes without saying. So I must assume you mean the former? In any case, I don't quite see the point of this post.

Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day to the Indigenous New Yorkers who continue to shape our city, sustain ancestral traditions, and carry forward generations of resilience.

Can we stop parading this bullshit artist around? "Are you looked down upon in the AI world?" "Yes, I'm a pain in the ass for them." Sure buddy. Now tell me again how powerful AI is. fuckouttahere.

Currently writing about the nazi cult of beauty and feeling a little let down by the latest iteration. My man, find a cobbler.

I've only in recent days learnt who Jacob Geller was, and given the sheer volume of reactions, this now feels like either the most embarrassing bubble or the most fortunate blind spot.

Please don't forget about us trans people. Facing the worst attack on our rights in this country due to Labour's current transphobia. Don't forget my community. That's all I ask. Please.

Well, I just had someone email us to request missing components... that don't exist for the game. He used a chatbot to "research" what might be missing from a used copy of the game and it hallucinated new components.

AoE2 was my first video game obsession and I spent years playing essentially just this. Haven't played it for almost 25 years. Installed DE and man, am I having a blast. Weirdly, my brain keeps telling me to click on certain icons without remembering what they'd do. Like, oh, flaming arrows, right!

Yes, AI is vewy scawwy and you should definitely slow down development of what would otherwise surely end in an uncontrollable superintelligence rather than autocomplete plateauing, with trillions in debt, absolutely, I believe you. Now let me shop while you go play with Sammy and Elon, honey, okay?

Tech ran out of ideas, let deep learning loose on noise patterns and sold the result as AI. People caught on that it's just autocomplete applied to nothing and now their final death rattle is blackmail. Media loves both tech fantasies and the apocalypse, and this is the convergence point of the two.

Can the media please stop platforming these losers?

Curiously, hate against a minority that is significantly underrepresented in the states in which the AfD thrives most, but that would benefit most from left-wing policies because they're the poorest states in the country.

On Germany: something I can’t stand is the idea that the Left and the Green parties haven’t offed arguments about the cost of living. They have! It’s just that they haven’t offered *hate*. The AfD have offered hate, that is their most passionate offering, that is primarily why they are thriving.

And you can watch those tokens being spent in real time in Zeteo's Maximilian Krah interview.

Bill@bill-of-lefts.bsky.social

The AfD being led by a lesbian in a domestic partnership with an Indian woman is one of those facts that doesn’t really compute

All those wise guys insisting that you technically don't own games anymore, duh, and that everyone should just accept corporate dominion: This is where corporations cash that in. Those words will be used against you.

Sony says "reasonable consumers" know they don’t own the digital PlayStation games they buy. It argues that it's "not plausible" to suggest that when they buy a digital game they actually believe they're "obtaining ownership" of it. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-sa...

Now Loomer wants the FBI to investigate MTG for allegedly “harboring” an illegal alien and MTG’s daughter is tweeting at Todd Blanche to say that Milo never lived at her mom’s house.

Bro disavowed his own sexuality AND endorsed pedophilia and STILL got abducted by the homophobic pedo Gestapo, give the man a break, he did everything in his power to do the right thing!

engaged youtube views (top) vs views (bottom), with a spike that shows the exact day the definition of a "view" changed. Apparently, that's more than double what it used to be. Cool! Why are we doing this, exactly?

"Harassment-prone demographic uses harassment glasses to harass even more efficiently. Maker of harassment glasses, who got rich by inventing harassment platform, insists that wasn't their intention."

NEW: Teen boys are using smart glasses — mainly Meta's AI Glasses — to film themselves harassing classmates at school, following girls around and "rizzing" them or "ragebaiting" them w/ insults. In several videos we reviewed, girls plead w/ the poster to stop filming. futurism.com/artificial-i...

Reading the wikipedia article of the Mechanical Turk, it's just funny how even back in the 1800s, major newspapers were like: Two boys say they saw a guy in there? Yeah right, pfff, kids. This machine THINKS! *mysterious hand gestures*

This, honestly, struck me as well. Especially the time of year everyone performatively wears their poppy pins. As a German, national, quasi-mandatory support for the troops just seemed bizarre.
