There is no justification for conversation practices. None.
If you thought the Conversion Practices Bill is already bad thanks to all the loopholes and allowances it provides, then donβt worry - itβs about to get worse. The Government are hearing βevidenceβ from anti-trans campaigners Helen Joyce, Dennis Kavanagh and the LGB Alliance this week.

I'm doing support group stuff today, and its always welcome to be able to be in a supportive space and have nothing but positivity towards me and our group from the others who are here. Plus I got to call myself lovely on the other account, and have a pile of sweets to slowly work my way through.
Today we're at Arts University Plymouth's student support wellbeing day, being represented by the lovely Lisa (@cutscore.bsky.social)

"If medical schools and universities don't want the literature to be overwhelmed with garbage," Oransky said, "then they should probably stop giving every applicant ... an incentive to publish a lot of crap."

We have a relatively dry weekend coming up if anyone has some time to give? Get in touch!
We have another skip arriving on Wednesday, and we are still open to hosting volunteers until the end of the September. A warm bed and good food in return for a few hours labour on a fantastic community asset. Go on... π§ contact@essehouse.co.uk
Just looked at this and realised that wait was when I got the email. From referral to walking through the door was 8 years, 11 months and 17 days. Two weeks off 9 years.
8 years, 8 months, 11 days. That's how long it took from my referral to my first appointment with an NHS gender clinic, though won't get any care or support until at least my next appointment which could be another year or two away. Looking forward to finally finding out if I'm trans π³οΈββ§οΈβ§οΈπ€π

Excellent paper that captures the bleak reality of trying to find work when you're trans+. I will never pass & published before name change so my CV outs me. Finding work was tough, but I'm lucky to be somewhere I'm valued. Being visible is a very powerful statement papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....
The decision taken by the Welsh Gender Service to pause all gender affirming surgery is just so cruel. The rationale behind it, that they get more referrals than England, doesn't hold up to scrutiny. It just implies England should be doing more affirmative care cavuhb.nhs.wales/news/latest-...
Yes it is a complete mystery who is responsible for whipping up anti-pride, anti LGBT, and anti-trans sentiments. If only there were clues www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The last paragraph of this correspondence The Lancet published following the Supreme Court's judgement is 'Chef's Kiss' perfection www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
The Lancet has been net pro-trans for over a decade, but RFK Jr and DOGE seems to have been a huge wake-up call for them that they need to get openly political. I think that's going on for a lot of these institutions.

Last week The Lancet, arguably the most trusted journal in medicine, published an editiorial condemning attacks on LGBTQ+ healthcare and vigorously reaffirmed the necessity of gender-affirming care for both adults and minors. www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

Serious questions should be asked about any academic who signs this. Freedom of speech doesn't make racism acceptable.
I suppose no surprise , but the anti trans movement sure reveal more about their βvaluesβ every day - first they came for the racists and I said βleave the racists alone becauseβ¦β
Not only the 'Beat Girl', she had a Mirror front page in '66 with the headline 'SIN AND MINI SKIRTS' by protesting Billy Graham's views on mini skirts on his car in Soho, & if ever I have a trans dream its to be front page news with a story that has paragraph headings that say 'Angry' and 'Artistry'
Your reminder that the English Beat icon "Beat Girl" is a transgender woman named Brigitte Bond from a photo of her dancing with ska musician Prince Buster at Heathrow in 1964 and none of us will be as cool as she was.
Awarding an honorary doctorate to Toyah is honestly pretty based, but Helen Lewis? Really? I feel so sorry for the trans+ staff and students at Worcester Uni watching them reward someone who has routinely used their platform to delegitimise trans+ lives www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/2648347...
