Finally fixed our store review process and approved nearly 200 reviews from the past couple months. Please be careful, we had to deny so many due to excessive detail on dates, names, package details, locations or personal medical information.

You all have seen Erin and I fiercely clash over tactics over the years, but this piece makes a wholly reasonable ask that I also endorse. The four in the header image especially suck shit.

The elections are on next Tuesday, and so much is at stake, including the soul of the Democratic Party when it comes to transgender people. I am asking you to leave a very small number of races blank in which a Democrat has embraced extreme anti-trans hate. I make my case here.

At some point, liberal political discourse has to move beyond playing devil's advocate for imaginary opponents. This isn't analysis, it's trolling for a paycheque.

Matthew Yglesias @mattyglesias.bsky.social

I haven't studied Kaptur's race closely, but I've been following Iowa and Turek winning seems pretty clearly better for trans rights.

"Swing voter who'd vote democrat were it not for supporting trans rights" is a completely made up person. They don't exist, not even as a statistical aggregate according to mounting data. It's pure contrarianism to take that lane.

Tackling this tendancy directly has to be the main focus going forwards. We don't need to defeat them, we just need to teach our friends and family to roll their eyes at such absurdities and keep their attention where it matters.

Sorry man this guy’s gotta lose I don’t care who the fuck he’s running against. If these loudly anti-trans Dems don’t lose, it’s going to take us thirty years to get back the rights we’ve lost in the past five.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

If you've ordered anything from @trans.supplies or @hrtlabs.cc please get in touch to let us know how it went. We're aware that hrtlabs.cc has been mass liking bsky posts and it's left folks a little unsettled, we just don't have any additional information about them beyond what's public.

Because it's older it gets to sidestep more modern conversations about politics, MAGA, facebook melting boomers brains, etc, because none of that really matters. Narcissistic and emotionally immature parents will choose their own ego over their child's well-being every time, it's that simple.

Even arguing about whether this is what they're doing is part of the abuse cycle, it is self-evident and you will never get them to admit it in a way where progress can be made. The real value is in mapping out the systems of justification they've built to reinforce their behaviour.

We'll announce a date for that drop next week. We're planning on restocking our standard 40mg/ml EEn in MCT oil, as well as making our highly concentrated 80mg/ml EEn in 5ml vials available for the first time.

Saw some speculation on other platforms about some stores going in and out of stock too quickly to catch. Sharing this reply we posted. @diyhrt.coffee has the same problem since naturally we don't want to share historical stock information. We recommend their tools if you desperately need notifs.

Our email notifications are being sent out correctly, but at this point the volume is so high that many get caught by gmail's spam filter. Not your spam folder, a lower layer that you never even see.

It simply isn't something we can fix without compromising our anonymity so we'll likely be going ahead with mobile notifications in the near future.

"This is not because AI has become sentient [...] but because AI is proving something that we have always known: much of the software that runs the internet, our devices, our accounts, and our lives is vulnerable, or out of date, or has security flaws that human beings never noticed"

404media.coAI Is Changing Everything About Hacking. No One Knows What Happens Next'Black October:' The PHP vulnerabilities and a series of other hacks and bugs have cybersecurity experts freaking out and unsure what happens next.

I can't promise you we'll win, but I can promise you that every successful civil rights movement has faced this exact hurdle. Dr Martin Luther King's Letter from Birmingham Jail covered it in his time beautifully.

Part of why this backslide feels so severe is that the gay acceptance movement of the 00s was never really a package deal for all queer people, we just got slid in as the 4th letter on some basic discrimination protections. The early 2010s is when it really got going for us.

While there's been massive legislative setbacks, the gains in broad social acceptance makes a decade ago unrecognisable. The fact we've been hammered relentlessly for 4 years and polling is still like "eh I'm 50/50 on sports" is a miraculous. Holding position against a current is a wild success.

Reposting from 2024: Making puberty blockers the first line endocrine treatment for trans kids instead of just giving them hormones was a Faustian bargain between a society that would only accept trans people's existence as an incurable mental illness and the people willing to accept those terms.

Not even getting into the other big issue that was disclosed yesterday. There's nothing to be done about it.

Not to make this the cybersecurity power hour but this is why you really really need to be thinking about what you put on the internet, like at all, in regards to DIY. You just have to assume that every service will be compromised at some point.

We contacted every brewer using it within a couple hours of the initial disclosure yesterday encouraging them to take measures immediately. Shutting their sites down until they can apply the proper security updates is a smart move that shows they care for your privacy, despite the inconvenience.

The NHS has issued new guidance on same sex spaces for patients and staff. This guidance is based on the EHRC code of practice which we believe is exclusionary of trans and non-binary people. We continue to hold serious concerns about the implications of the guidance, and how it will be implemented.

Due to the situation in France, some packages are being delayed or misrouted. If you have an order on the way, this is most likely self-resolvable but we recommend that you keep an eye on your tracking and email/phone for messages from your forwarding courier for complementary information if needed

❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

Trans Harm Reduction's latest test set showed that at least one batch in May from Hera HRT was at half the advertised concentration. Hera have posted an update on their website indicating they're aware of it and looking into it.

Hera's made a few updates to this statement. We're keeping in touch with them as this progresses.

This is a really important consideration not just for trans twitter, but DIY HRT on 4chan. Even if intellectually you understand many of the ideas are bad, the language and rhetorical framings of a platform are inescapable so be careful where you spend your time.

You know, the thing is, I had drafted this piece a month ago, and then never published it, because I thought maybe it was too mean.

Even this post you're reading right now is inescapably Bluesky. Absolute statement > anticipated concern > one sentence refutation. In a vacuum I'd never write like but that's what discrete units of 300 characters force you into.

This third post has to be a conclusion because a fourth would make it a thread on your timeline, and most people aren't clicking on those.

There's a specific person on that list who's the reason our project exists. Hearing about their death cemented my unapologetic advocacy for DIY. I am so proud of how far the community has come in a short few years. Even 5 years ago it was a taboo topic in most trans spaces, now it's so normalised.

This thing of ours has probably saved thousands of lives over the last few years. Whatever drama there is, whatever problems come up, whatever mistakes are made, always remember that's the goal.

Hey all! Since we're restocking on Sunday the 18th, we will stop accepting new bulk orders THIS Sunday (on the 11th). Bulk orders placed after this date will be fulfilled at a later date, as we'll focus on shipping web orders. If you still want to place a bulk order, now's the time!

Trans Harm Reduction's latest test set showed that at least one batch in May from Hera HRT was at half the advertised concentration. Hera have posted an update on their website indicating they're aware of it and looking into it.

Hera should be posting a longer statement of their own very soon. They've given us a more insight into what exactly they're investigating and an independent expert we spoke to agrees this all seems like a straight forward honest mistake that presents no real risks besides possible underdosing.

Until Hera gets confirmation on some of their theories about what happened our advice is this: There are no safety worries. If you have a batch from May then try to get a blood test ASAP. If the blood test suggests you're underdosed then you can simply double your dose until you finish that vial.

This isn't to say things aren't bad, but for a marginalised community where poor mental health is rampant it's so so important that we accurately assess threats and focus our energy on the fights that matter.

Recently, I did a wonderful interview with the indefatigable @emilystjams.bsky.social about trans people's online information environment and why there are very strong incentives to spread panic. It was a wide-ranging discussion that I think is more relevant than ever.

Not wild about that "Erin Reed uses AI" piece. It reads like someone with an unhealthy fixation asked Claude to help prove she uses AI, and then lightly reworded the output. There are a hundred issues more deserving of the time and word count than firing the starting gun on a prominent trans person.

Not that you need to justify why AI political writing is bad on this side of Bluesky, but Orwell wrote everything that needs said 80 years ago. These are long paragraphs with lots of em dashes though so maybe he used Claude too. bioinfo.uib.es/~joemiro/Rec...

In the long run, anything you write is as good as public unless it's an E2EE message or lives on your computer.
