news seems bad but some of it betrays total panic. all these hail mary scandals. illegals voting in california! congesswoman under investigation! candidate in mantal hospital! schools forcibly transitioning your kids! candidate actually terrorist! candidate's mom hates her guts! FBI agents indicted!

there’s been an insane amount of noise in the hallway. lots of chatter, people going up to the roof, slamming doors. my neighbor just texted me. the side facade of the building is peeling off and the building department sent a team to rappel down from the roof.

the 2020 election denier Heather Honey copied on everything and somehow supplying 4.6 million records from an unknown source. the over-the-top mission names (Operation Cold Snap). Talking about church voter registration drives like they're terrorist cells. Obtaining financial records for nonprofits.

the incredible amount of tax money and manpower being spent. It also makes you realize that with enough data and enough scrutiny, anything can be criminalized. anything can be "irregular." I read that while major crimes have fallen, arrests for nuisance crimes are up. More surveillance, more crimes.

my mother bought this at an actual kossoy sisters concert in the 50s. I used the music in my performances. I believe my last boyfriend took the album. I was distraught. It’s being reissued. Thanks so much for this thread where I learned that. I love this OP but can’t reply directly, so thanks.

the left responds too tepidly to grand announcements of voter fraud. they’ll get an expert to say how rare it is, doesn’t impact results etc. but these claims fall apart, invariably, spectacularly. say with your full chest the charges are bogus. the charges will be dropped. it has to stop.

absolutely heartbreaking. the DOJ did full-on swat raids. they shackled them. the people are baffled and distraught. one guy almost certainly was confused with his son of the same name.

I'm watching a cold case murder trial in which the crime was vicious but the evidence is thin, as in only DNA at the crime scene. On scene was a takeout bag with writing on it & state investigators introduced into evidence a picture with writing on it from defendant's computer. It was a viral meme.

Over the weekend internet sleuths reverse-image searched the picture, a stack of cash with a note written in Spanish & found it all over facebook. The guy was arrested 5 years ago & North Carolina's top investigators didn't think to Google one of their main pieces of evidence. Public trials are good

I'd like to know more about what happened this past weekend in Canada, the explosion & fire during military training. The very first reports indicated munitions had struck a gas main or similar, but they've either walked that back or someone talked out of school.

At 10am Judge Ana Reyes will begin an evidentiary hearing in the golf course case at 10am. I'll try to live-blog from the US Courthouse media room for @lawfaremedia.org . This is a case to stop Trump from converting a historic public golf course, open to all, to a Trump style championship course.

Even the shallowest puddle on a city street can become a scrying mirror. For this is the power of the witch – she refuses the false polarity of magical and mundane. All and everything may hold wonder. All and everything may be a tool of her witchery. – #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WitchSky

there was an academic on Twitter I was mutuals with who was absolutely nuts for Gucci Mane. then he was deeply affected by the Mike Brown/Ferguson events, I mean deeply. I wonder how he's doing now.

Of note: Judge Valerie Caproni of SDNY once again expressed doubt the old rules and laws guarding against forgeries and fake evidence aren't good enough to handle this. "We've dealt with bad actors presenting fake evidence since Cain and Abel," she said.

New: Tech experts at OpenAI and Meta Platforms warned a federal judicial panel today that AI-generated "deepfakes" are becoming so sophisticated that it will become increasingly challenging to determine the authenticity of audio and video evidence presented at trial. www.reuters.com/legal/govern...

what I want to see is one girl, one athlete, refuse to submit to "verification." I want her to say "millions of adults voted to have my genitals inspected before I can run around a track. that's disgusting. why don't you all line up to inspect me since you're so invested in my well-being?"

washington ballots go out oct. 16, and i-638, a ban on trans girls in girls’ school sports, could pass. the ballot mentions “verification of biological sex by students’ healthcare providers,” but not that it covers every girl on a girls’ school team, or who pays. why the left is sleeping on it:

this can't come from a parent suing, or from civil rights or privacy groups. It's got to be a kid. And for optics it needs to be the girliest girl ever to girl. A righteously angry young athlete who just dares the adults to force her to comply.

celebrity news is more puerile than ever given the stakes of what's happening in the world. celebrity misbehaves on a plane? do not care. celebrity big mad at a brooklyn toy store? don't care.

you guys see this? yet another gang of cops exchanging racist messages & competing to hassle & arrest the most black people.

Patrick Byrne and Mike Lindell gave these guys a fuckton of money years ago so now every election cycle a few election workers doing their normal jobs are picked out to be ritually sacrificed to the reliable outrage mob they’ve cultivated.

cops were similarly shocked when criminals began using facial recognition to ferret out undercover cops. I saw a blue line podcast where they were wringing their hands over this. failure to consider necessary corollaries & nefarious use cases of emerging tech on the part of adopters is endemic.

because if it's true they followed him from Target, Target famously uses facial recognition in their stores. If big box store have integrated their facial recognition cameras with ICE watchlist databases that deserves top-notch investigative reporting & national attention
