Found this Killdeer in the fading light yesterday. Takes a lot of patience to capture these quick movers with a nice background! #PortTownsend #PNW #Birds

A surreal afternoon last September along the Salmon River upstream from Riggins, ID. A touch of wildfire smoke accelerates the layering of the distant hills. #BlueSkyArtShow #Reflections #ID

This old oak door in Port Townsend has seen it all. Deep carved wood and dark brass, standing through time like the old men made it. Bezos talks of one-way & two-way doors, but this one just watches the trade wars and politicians come and go. A damn good door that doesn't care either way.

It’s official: In the USA The Gulf of Mexico is now the “Gulf of America,” and Denali, the Alaska Native name for North America’s tallest peak, has been reverted to Mount McKinley. But we refuse to accept this change—Denali will always be Denali to us. #IStandWithDenali

Stopped by the new-ish Queensbury Rivian chargers. Great location with easy on/off I-87 with a Home2Suites next door. Pull through spot for trailers! 2 chargers out of service but plenty of open spots. #Rivian #RAN #EV

Curious to hear how tech-savvy folks have weened themselves off Google, Microsoft, etc. Any recommended open source solutions for self-hosting email and file storage?

Some quick snaps from this morning's hike. The winter light can work wonders on a landscape. I was surprised to find this snow-covered leaf in such close proximity to the saplings where the wind-blown snow had created mini drifts. #Fujifilm #X100VI #Vermont

I escaped for a quick hike with Pico just before sunset today. It was nice to feel the sun after a cloudy week of flurries. Pico used to avoid water like the plague but now loves it even when it's 15 degrees F. #Fujifilm #X100VI #Vizsla #Vermont

Alright! Found a van, Ford Transit high roof. Build has started. First install over the weekend was a Flatline Van Co roof rack. Super impressed by build quality. Will likely look at them for rear door hardware (box / ladder) when we get to that phase. Any other #vanlife folks on here?

What are your favorite podcasts? I'm personally a big fan of Tim Ferriss, Andrew Huberman and Darknet Diaries. Looking to expand my horizons while awaiting new episodes from that bunch.

Made it back to the same spot with a Sprinter rented from Outdoorsy. 10/10 will come back again.

Been thinking today about this amazing motocamping spot I found in in Utah earlier this year. Will be traveling back to the area in a few weeks. #motocamping #ut #tenere

Thankful for the Vermont and New Hampshire road crews that made possible my drive to Boston in a Kansas-plated rental car. Easily a dozen cars off the road - all minor and attended to minus the one person attempting to “speed and power” it back onto the highway.

Fantastic hike up Worcester Mountain this morning before an early Thanksgiving meal. Great light and beautiful photos in every direction thanks to freezing rain yesterday. Microspikes were a must! #Fujifilm #Vizsla #vtwx
