now that we have "AI" in the present, these so-called safety experts are still stuck on coming up with hypothetical future problems. if you asked any of them to talk about current day AI safety issues like fraud or sex abuse or wealth concentration, they just hit you with the fluoride stare

Gas is five dollars a gallon, Trump’s secret police force is grabbing random people off the streets, and the US is losing a war to Iran. But some low followers liberal social media accounts are still using the term “Latinx” unironically. I have never felt more politically homeless.

For once I agree with Reform. I would be happy to see long-term benefit recipients like oil executives, city bankers, and tax dodgers clean the streets

Can someone please explain to me how will more drilling alleviate people’s struggles? We should demand more from politicians than empty words. Let me say it again, drilling for more oil will only make things more expensive and raise your taxes so you can hold the bag for the oil industry.

Caroline Lucas@carolinelucas.bsky.social

Is “pragmatic” the new, “grown up” word? Andy, there’s nothing “pragmatic” about drilling for more oil & gas - to even consider it with the planet literally on fire is total madness. How many times must we say it will do nothing for energy bills or security? It would be an act of utter recklessness

Everyone that’s raging against Net Zero is trying to con you into being the bagholder for the failing fossil fuels industry. Most of the profits there are made, keeping the wells open is more expensive, it will not make energy cheaper, you will just subsidise someone’s yacht.
