city elf not just because of my beloved HOF, devyn tabris, but it really throws you full tilt into what elves face in thedas it gives your character a unique perspective different from dalish elves and the other races (dalish elf is runner up for the lore drops)
#daOCqotd What is your favourite origin in...well, Origins? Any reason why, and most importantly, can we see your characters of that background?

hmm. well my canon is cousland and i do think it’s a great origin because of the tie-in with the ferelden civil war storyline, the connection to the landsmeet, howe, etc. (possibly the most traumatic also). BUT i also *really* like both aeducan and brosca, though - in both cases the connection to -

to play through? city elf. the one i use most? magi. i actually hate playing through the magi origin but i love playing mages in da:o lol. city elf was the origin i chose for my very first pt and i think the story there played a part in getting me hooked.

Besides the well-known pet names "Dearest, my heart, my love..." a while ago while they talked, Emmrich established a new term of calling Yuriel "My swan" and uses this pretty often. 🩷 Yuriel was surprised at first, but came to really enjoy it already.

Saayan loves it! Viago calls them Little Bird, unless he's pissed. Teia calls them this as well. Lucanis of courses uses ones like mi amor, corazon, etc. but he also started (sometimes) using Little Bird after Spite started mimicking Viago who, for once, said it with Lucanis present.

Zarindal will use sweetheart and dear fairly regularly in various languages. *Despises* being called 'pet' as it was often used as an insult, calling her Viago's pet, and trying it is a good way for poisoned knives to come out.

D'metry started calling Lucanis Amatus. D'metry loves it but it was also kinda to desensitise him to it after everything. Lucanis learns to love it and use it back. Lucanis also uses "Mi Vida" for D'metry D'metry absolutely hates being called "Pet" by ANYONE and will get aggressive on sight XD

“I absolutely love them. She calls me many nicknames and they are very sweet: dearest, my emerald, my hero, my champion. I’m still on the fence if I like ‘jester’ or not. I despise being called ‘naive’ because I am not, though she meant it in jest, but she’s since stopped using that name.”

Rook had never had someone use them for her until Emmrich, who of course is a CONSTANT source of sweet little pet names. She would never have thought to ask someone to use them for her but she really likes them. She wouldn't want something like "good girl" or anything that feels too diminutive.

If D'metry ever had to wear a bra again for whatever reason, he would strangle someone with it because fuck that and he's so happy that he doesn't have to ever again 🥰 (The joys of being a trans man)
#daOCqotd What would your OC never, ever wear? (or, what have they worn/been forced to wear and hated it)

Trying to think of things Callin wouldn't wear and it's actually kind of hard to picture. Maybe extra formal robes or heavy armor. He'd prefer to be comfortable, of course, but he'd put on the Rivaini panoply without hesitation. Especially if it makes Lucanis go that lovely shade of red.

Astralis has to be either bribed or pressured into wearing jewelry (his engagement earring is an exception) because he hates the way they weigh, shift, and get tangled in things. He let Josie & Vivienne dress him up fully for the Winter Palace, but he had more pressing issues to think abt there.

amell will never willingly wear a mage robe. she's also not fond of dresses; they're impractical and have too much fabric (and some of it is itchy!) for her tastes. for gwyllgi, it's less of what they *won't* wear, and more that they are a technically-dalish elf who wears shoes in the forest.

Davrien would never ever wear fennec fur or halla leather, as he loves Fennecs too much and would never wear the skin of a halla, he'd consider it disrespectful to the halla. He tries to avoid fur in general tbh, and he's not too keen on leather though he knows it can't always be avoided.
