WRAP UP (2026)
1. 1 to 10
Another #manwha I mostly read for the very beautiful artstyle. Although, the nicely wrapped ending did elevate the story for me. I do think, it was missing a subplot about the friends' romance though.

WRAP UP (2025)
1. I Tamed my Ex-Husband Mad Dog
I was really enjoying this manwha UNTIL the last season. The 3rd-act breakup lasted for far too long imo and the way both protagonists mistreated their children ruined the reading experience for me.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS (Fall 2026)
1. Avatar: Seven Havens
Im cautiously optimistic:
- the world is gorgeous despite the environmental catastrophe
- the character designs are a bit generic but they have a lot of charisma
- the Avatars are adorable and I want to protect them!
- intriguing mystery
FIRST IMPRESSIONS (Summer 2026)
1. Though I'm an Inept Villainess
The Forbidden City is one of my favorite setting for historical anime, so I was already sold. Then I met the 2 main characters and I was completely won over by their charm. I have good feelings about this one.

2. The Apothecary Diaries (season 3)
This season is off to a slow start with a massive threat looming overhead to keep us engaged. Im not a fan of Maomao living outside of the Forbidden City, as it takes a little more efforts for Jinshi and her to meet!

If you’d like to see a great spooky animated film with a fierce black girl as the protagonist, I highly recommend “Wendell & Wild.” It’s on Netflix. It was produced by Henry Selick and Jordan Peele.
Everyone is saying they want Coven Academy but Black. It Already exists.
If you want Witches, Vampires, love triangles, teen melodrama, adult melodrama on the side but make it all more black and queer and by a queer black creator check out The Three Tomes on YouTube.

SPRING WRAP UP
1. A Sign of Affection
I'm a bit regretful, that I didnt watch that anime as it was airing because the hype was totally justified. I love (almost) everything about this love story and it was fascinating to see the world filtered through Yuki's deafness.

WINTER WRAP UP (2026)
1. A Star Brighter than the Sun
A great slow-burn love story between 2 excellent people, who are easy to root for. "Childhood friend" is one of my favorite tropes and it's nice to know, he will be endgame for once. The secondary characters were a plus!
#shoujo#romance
2. Hana Kimi
I have always been drawn to gender-bending stories so this anime felt tailor-made for me. Plus, an all-male school is the perfect setting for an (almost) reverse harem trope, which I also like. All in all a classic story with a lot of warmth and charm.
#shoujo#romance
3. You and I Are Polar Opposites
This anime will definitely make my Top 5 of the year. It has everything: an adorable couple, an extensive cast of very unique supportive characters, great art and great plot! Miyu is one of the best romance girlies of the year. Love her energy.

PRETTY PRETTY PLEASEEE !!! 🤘🏾🗣🔥
you should be watching " pretty pretty please i don't want to be a magical girl " by @kianamai.bsky.social cuz it's peak and I love to see black artists winning 🙌🏾😋💕

3. Please Excuse my Younger Brothers
Adorable story with adorable characters. Im a big fan of the MC's design! In comparaison, the brothers' feel a bit more traditional but it doesn't distract from the story. The romance is slow-paced, just like I like it. Im having a great time!
#shoujo#romance
4. The Ogre's Bride
Insta-love isnt really my cup of tea BUT the main characters are endearing and more importantly, the villainess is intriguing. Im hoping, the world building will keep expanding, so that it all makes better sense. I'm happy, there are so many shoujo this season.

The fully animated and colored ‘Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl’ pilot by @kianamai.bsky.social will release next Friday, September 4th.
328. Half Is More, Vol. 1 - licensed - From constantly being praised for speaking their native language well, to feeling stuck in a void between their parents' cultures, this follows several mixed race girls and women in Japan. The specifics are Japanese, but the microaggressions look very familiar.

2. Smocking Behind the Supermarket with You
Adults, yay! This anime seduced me at the opening alone. I was already rooting for its male lead in need of a pick me up after hard days at work. I really like soft and nerdy male characters. Plus, his love interest is very refreshing.

I listened to "This & That", the latest Stray Kids' album and I liked it, esp. the songs that are designed to be played live like "Run It" and "After You". What I like the most about Skz is that no matter the trend, they are chasing, their songs always sound like them! It's very cohesive.
#kpop
I listened to "Therapy at the Club", the sophomore album of the Black British girl groupe FLO and I loved it. As usual, the lyrics are very relatable, the harmonies and adlibs are on point and the melodies are beautiful. It has so many catchy hits! Highly recommend.
