not gonna waste my energy on that kind of thing. just like I don't care for "is this a REAL silent hill?" as a conversation, "this isn't a REAL castlevania" or "its not the same as before" don't really make sense if you have any comprehension of the actual series. it feels so insincere and empty.

Exclusively in the Japanese version of Super Mario Sunshine, there is a physics oversight on a platform in a secret course whereby Mario will be stuck on the ground producing dust. The steam-like dust visuals and sound effects make it seem like he is being fried or grilled.

In Super Mario 64, tiny slivers of exposed out-of-bounds areas will cause Mario to bonk if he collides with them. However, the exact same scenario in Super Mario Sunshine is much more cruel to Mario. Here, instead of merely bonking, Mario will break his spine.
