There are going to be Democrats who say we shouldn’t rip it all out — it’s already built, we have other priorities — but removing the visible signs of Trumpism is absolutely necessary.

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.

I'm not opposed to the use of flock cameras for solving murders or prosecuting gangs that break into famous athletes houses while they're on the road. I am opposed to speed cameras that punish me for a lead foot like I'm a fucking lemming. I view that speed limit as a guideline.

It’s telling that you think he wasn’t disagreeable. What it tells me is that you are extremely playable and not to be trusted. You’ll never get this Californian’s vote again.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

What I’ll remember most about Senator Graham was his sense of humor and how he deployed it to move his policy positions forward. Though we did not often agree, Senator Graham was never disagreeable.

Today is like when you order something from a store that you want and they send you the wrong thing. At first, you're disappointed, but come to realize that you are happy with what they sent and will just wait for the thing you *really* want.

Imagine being a billionaire in an unequal society where the system has been massively rigged in your favor, watching as ordinary people fall further and further behind and get more and more desperate, and thinking a slightly higher tax rate is the worst possible thing that might ever happen to you.

Hello, she lied.

Leavitt: "I think it's frankly ridiculous that anyone in this room would even suggest that President Trump is doing anything for his own benefit. He left a life of luxury and a life of running a very successful real estate empire for public service."

Man, I bet the NRA is going to be furious when they hear that jack-booted thugs from the federal government executed a law-abiding citizen for exercising his Second Amendment right to carry a handgun. Any second now, I'm sure. He was a white guy, if that helps? Hello? NRA?

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

It is the job of the Democratic party to sell and defend the policies that most Democratic voters want, not to present a candidate slate that is palatable to moderate Republicans who might switch if they hate their own candidate enough.

If a school shooter doesn't have access to a gun, then there's no school shooting. That's the only thing that ever matters. Other countries aren't plagued by gun violence for a very specific reason: They don't have 80 bazillion guns. There's literally nothing else worth talking about.

A NYC candidate for mayor has called for reconsidering rent control in that city, while congressional Republicans are advancing a bill that would take a trillion dollars in health care away from working people all across America, but guess which one the pundits are all over right now?

Also, this clip from the rally just suggests how Republican politics is the real DEI — so many mediocre white dudes falling up, depriving Kia dealerships of assistant sales managers

"Jesus take the wheel" was not the political strategy I was looking for from the Democratic leader in the House.

Wonder why so many of us are despondent about the response from Democratic leadership 🙄

You are up to date.
