Had a sudden urge for soup. Night soup. Diced some onion, a whack of garlic & 2 quarts of nearly expired mushrooms. Sauté. Add 8 cups of water, a half bag of yellow split peas, a liberal dose of cumin, poultry seasoning, salt & pepper. Let burble. I'll thicken it a bit at the end with some flour.

I've been watching a bunch of horror movies before bed lately & was having troubled sleeps. As a mental palette cleanser I started Vendetta for The Saint last night (starring Roger Moore, 1969) & the dreams were just plain weird. Too much ham & cheese before bed maybe.

I've finished re-shingling the front porch roof. Just a few bits left to do higher up and my 10 year roofing project will be complete. But, that's for another day, I'm waaay too tired now. It doesn't get any easier with age.

76% of Albertans rejecting separation from Canada outright yesterday (the referendum questions left the possibility to revisit separation & voters rejected this option, too.) It's almost like the question should never have been brought, but the tiny minority of malcontents must be appeased.
