#ga227 pulled an AMAZING move with the "monogamy" overture by referring it "to the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy for discussion as part of the comprehensive theological framework proposed in GEN-09." They sent it to the ACSWP for discussion. Amazing. It's neither dead nor alive.

There is no story here. It wasn't voted down, and it wasn't approved. They're sending it to a committee for consideration along with GEN-09, where it will never be heard from again. ::slow clap::

and allows candidates to filter by that. It also recommends a narrative box "Would the congregation be a good fit for an openly LGBTQIA+ candidate? If so, why do you say that? What intentional work of education, discernment and action has the congregation undertaken that leads to that conclusion?"

Several of those who opposed the weasel-named "monogamy overture" that is really about doing an end-run around the amendment process, recommended this instead. Glad to see it moving forward. #GA227 www.pc-biz.org/search/3001501

#GA227 The committee approved GEN-09, from the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy, which would create a new report titled "Beyond Changing Families: Flourishing Relationships and Belonging." (3/3)

DURBIN: How does taking dad from child dying of cancer qualify as a violent crime? NOEM: I don't know what you're speaking of D: Ruben Torres 2 weeks ago buried his daughter. When he was arrested at Home Depot, he said, 'Please. My daughter is dying.' They deported him. Was he a violent criminal?

Was sending expensive military hardware over an apartment building in Chicago and dragging people into the cold in the middle of the night good? No. BUT was it justified because it was to catch very dangerous drug traffickers and not, for example, a very expensive eviction of squatters? Also no.

BREAKING: The Trump administration repeatedly said the aggressive apartment raid in Chicago last fall was prompted by intel on a gang takeover. New docs show the real motivation was to get alleged squatters. And the landlord and manager helped them. www.propublica.org/article/chic...

Ah yes, arresting journalists for journalism always goes so well and is never a sign of increasing authoritarianism...

Bondi directed federal agents to arrest four journalists. Georgia Fort, Don Lemon, Jamael Lundy, and Trahern Crews. All Black. All doing their jobs.

In context, this verse is about how to treat people who lie about other people to try to cause them harm. Like he's doing. He's said elsewhere that his bachelor's in biblical studies was a big waste of time, and based on this post I'm inclined to agree with him.

It's ironic to see the same people justifying the regime deporting migrants because a few people who have the same immigration status killed people, while giving ICE agents who themselves shot and killed people in broad daylight in front of witnesses with cameras the benefit of the doubt.

There's been a lot of concern about polarization but what's not being taken into account is how much more and more extreme the right keeps getting. At this point a moderate position from fifteen years ago would be considered polarized vs the modern right, who are defending kidnappers.

In a way sure, but while the US kept Hollywood style Nazis alive and made Germany look bad, we here in Europe have moved on and we respect Germans. I am a neighbor of them. Germans have dealt with their past and educated their youth, US not so much about their racist past. bsky.app/profile/13bu...

Oh another wake up call for my American audience, since you forgot history. "America First" is a KKK reference from the 1920s march. The Nazies liked the KKK so much, they took their ideology of white supremacy, but changed it so it would it would be more adopted widely.

Last week's episode of "The USA" felt a little over the top. I mean, having the Gestapo analogues kill a woman named "Renee Good" feels kinda on the nose, don't you think? Are the writers getting lazier this season? And what happened to the Venezuela plotline they introduced the week before???

Making America whiter again won't make America great.

What really gives the game away is how the “return America to its glorious past” crowd never suggests reforming immigration to the beautiful 19th-century system of Ellis Island, before the modernist Immigration Act destroyed it in the decadent Roaring 20s. Immigration is good, actually. Pass it on.

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland. Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

And do not concern yourself with whether the church will do them, either; we have spent centuries teaching the churches to be concerned with their own survival above all else and to do such things as would oppose the projects of Our Father Below only as they have time and money. (3/6)

In your letter you mentioned that you had shown the patient the fictitious quotation from me that our colleague Thistlefoot has succeeded in popularising, recommending that you keep the patient fixated on politics. This is very good. (4/6)

I love that Cuomo is calling Sliwa a spoiler. Does he not understand how ranked choice voting works? ...or is he just hoping NYC Republicans don't understand how it works?

I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar. Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.
