Every time someone who knows better (looking at you, Wolf Blitzer) says that they are surprised that Trump isn’t showing basic leadership traits like empathy and respect, I have to control my emotions. Let’s stop being surprised by Trump, please? Let’s use our energy on countering. Thx

In the current GOP culture, publicly disagreeing w Trump on anything constitutes a profile in courage. But let’s please stop lionizing a fringe QAnon-supporting anti-Semite just because of that. I wouldn’t say she “lost it,” but the referenced clip illustrates that MTG is still MTG, Trump-emulator.

"If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder."

Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder. Either way, expect prosecutions in the future. www.justsecurity.org/wp-content/u...

Still bears repeating that Trump sounds like a Nazi leader with this language: “Trump said he would ‘denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility’ … and deport any foreign national who is a ‘public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.’” Never forget.

R-QAnon isn’t done in politics, unfortunately. That she is some kind of hero because she deigns to challenge Trump is an indictment of the GOP, and indirectly all of us, for our collective neglect of our democracy that got us to this point.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (QAnon-GA) to resign from Congress. I guess I’d take her over the sycophants, but that’s a low bar. She can now spread conspiracy and anti-Semitism more easily. And will be quickly replaced with a Trumper. And run for another office. Meh.

Not surprising of course. The corruption is open and flagrant now. Thx again to @propublica.org for their consistently heroic journalism.

Paul Ingrassia said he had a “Nazi streak.” Trump should have immediately condemned Ingrassia’s rhetoric and fired him from the White House. Instead, Trump offered Ingrassia a new job. For Trump, extremism is a positive – not a disqualifier.

If Trump can publicly ask his personal lawyer, AG Bondi, to set up a $230 million payment to himself, why shouldn’t his Senate enablers try “self-serving, self-dealing kind of stuff” themselves? The Trump Party’s open corruption is staggering. What’s happening behind the scenes? And this passed.

Tens of thousands killed in the past month. If our country had any sense of the responsibility of world leadership, or even interest in the human condition, we’d be on the ground. Having gutted USAID and having far right nationalists at the helm, we just watch; and by our absence, encourage.

Never in the history of the US has any president openly and repeatedly called for the investigation, arrest & prosecution of his political opponents. While many continue to shrug these things off and normalize them, I will never stop pointing out that this is what autocrats do.

I didn’t plan to break news. I just looked out the window. I was flying out of DCA and saw the East Wing being demolished. I took a photo, posted it, and by the time I landed, it was on CNN. It's wild how fast one moment can move — and how something so ordinary can make the world pay attention.

Because the customers want their products/services more than they want the White House or dislike Trump, and paying off Trump is good business in a country that increasingly tolerates, and even encourages, corruption. Next question?

Trump demanding $230 million from the DOJ, that he controls, is a shakedown of the American taxpayers so that Trump can line his own pockets. “There’s a government shutdown happening right now across the street, and on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, they’re tearing down the East Wing.”
