Jason Arday’s death is an absolute stain on this country. I feel devastated for him, his family and for people of colour in this country. There’s too much to say about it but there are human consequences to the culture war. When a person becomes the culture war. He was failed.

Nick Ferrari doesn't seem to know how 'numbers' work.

Having tried - and failed - for over a DECADE to get Virgin Media to take my late father’s name off the account, I think they got off lightly with just £28m. Virgin Media fined £28m for preventing customers from cancelling contracts www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I post a lot about how X has become a toxic cesspit, but checking in on the FB comments in response to very bland posts by Southampton City Council is a good reminder of how vitriolic social media can be. It does feel there needs to be a shift of social norms about how people behave online...

Reluctantly predicting now that Labour will do terribly, Reform will do well, and Labour will interpret that to mean “WE SHOULD BE EVEN MORE LIKE REFORM THEN SHOULDN’T WE”.

Susanna Reid asks Darren Jones what British companies who export to the US should do to prepare for a possible increase in tariffs. Darren Jones replies: "you shouldn't prepare for a hypothetical"

Incidentally have you heard the story about him running for JCR president (basically student union president)? He was unopposed for the role but one of my best friends had the inspired idea to campaign for re-open nominations (R.O.N) which we duly did and ended up outpolling him.

Print out this article and pin it to the door of No. 10 immediately.

This is outstanding. God knows what Labour is doing: legitimising the racism that'll be its undoing, losing the coalition which put it in office, trying to secure voters who will never support it, digging its own moral grave. observer.co.uk/news/opinion...

Currently drafting a letter to @ndironsmp.bsky.social about stripping back of EHCPs. The core point is this: we knew before the election that money was tight. BUT: we voted Labour so they could protect our most vulnerable from the worst effects of it. It's quite extraordinary to regret your vote.

🧵 This is a perfect example of what I've be describing as disordered discourse, and it's threat to democracy. Politicians are afraid to speak openly about key issues. Why? Because disordered discourse has captured the system itself—forcing obedience, punishing dissent, and making truth irrelevant.

I am grateful to Michael Rosen for two things: how Bear Hunt inspired an absolutely obsessive love of reading in my daughter; and for revealing where in Wood Green I was able to get the best falafel this world has to offer.

The cognitive dissonance required to simultaneously hold that (1) we are returning to a world of warring great powers, requiring rapid rearming and a generational shift in posture, and yet (2) we can’t find the £11bn to do it without tactical cuts because fiscal rules.

Look, all I’m saying is that there must be more than pee on that tape. No grown man - US President or otherwise - would debase themselves THIS much for just a bit of pee. #MoreThanPee

Sometimes I think we over complicate the ideology and the politics etc. Everything you’re told as a child is that the bullies don’t win. Including, and especially, while you’re being bullied yourself. And then the whole of 2025 has been a circus of geopolitical bullying. So it’s deeply distressing.
