UN report on genocide & war crimes singles out media outlets, like the BBC, CNN, New York Times distorting public understanding of Israel’s conduct and helped facilitate Genocide while obstructing accountability. The BBC style guide is so carefully scripted it's scary. docs.un.org/en/A/81/249

I get that the media is slow to catch up with things. I'm in the media, I am slow to catch up with things. But the week Reform's crowd looks like this, the BBC chooses _this week_ to go live to Farage's endless remarks on the budget; makes absolutely no sense

By all accounts this is what most of the recent Reform media events have looked like. Bubble well and truly burst

Anthropic filed for their IPO, and amid the stuff for investors to look at was this diagram. And, look, I know and adore diagrams like this one, and this one is nicely constructed, but. BUT. Many buts, all of which rate highly on the Sir Mix-A-Lot scale. Quick thread on the left-side loop:

Congrats once again to all the politicians, journalists, artists, celebrities, and brands who STILL prop up this man’s right-wing propaganda platform every day by using it as an official communication channel.

i don't think we can come to a reasonable compromise with this

I’m no kind of famous author, but I’ve signed this and stand in solidarity with Sally Rooney. “A country that bans its writers for speaking out is not a free country.”

This is great news. Maybe @eddavey.libdems.org.uk could finally show some leadership on this too by taking the Lib Dems off Musk's hate platform?

George Monbiot is right: the best option is to rejoin the EU. And the reality is that the process doesn't have to take long. Experts have confirmed that the UK could rejoin within a single Parliament.

This is brilliant. Read it to the end and pay full attention! Thank you Ben👏

Sanctions on those who break legal restrictions on free speech are necessarily about “breaking the law”. The question is not whether they broke the law. It is whether that law is reasonable and the sanctions justified. In the case of Rooney, the answer is no and no. 2/

Nearly 60% of pupils at Integrated secondary schools now identify as non-Christian, yet the sector hasn’t updated its Statement of Principles since 2008, when far fewer did.

This is unsustainable - the sector must reimagine and reposition itself for today’s reality. More detail in the article itself (linked to in the first post of the thread). Please read and share! 💙

Integrated schools, like almost all schools in Northern Ireland, provide a Christian-based rather than a secular approach. Yet the families who want Integrated Education do not align well with this ethos.

The sector discriminates on the basis of religion, aspiring to a 40/40/20 mix of Protestant, Catholic and other pupils. But these targets are out of step with enrolments.

Non-religious and mixed-religion families also prefer Integrated schools, to a greater extent than families who identify with a single Christian denomination.
