I'd filed a Hanson/ Lambie cartoon for today but it seemed a bit tin eared with what's happened in Indi so I did a new, last minute one this morning. I had a few ideas about division & dark days but thought I'd focus on something that's bringing people together instead. Here's to Helen Haines.

The American white collar workforce started working from home three days a week for like six months a year into COVID and executives so thoroughly lost their minds over this that they installed Trump II. If anything, AI will create the 7-day workweek.

Formal affordances are the elements that pull a player toward certain actions, they “cry out” for the player to take those actions. Material affordances are the actions a system actually allows the player to take. Agency occurs when the two are in balance. (Mateas 2001)

Start by offering little miniature vans to warhammer enthusiasts and then slowly give them bigger ones over time

Kevin Hearne@kevinhearne.bsky.social

How do we incentivize people to paint wizards on their vans again I haven’t seen a wizard van in a decade and it feels like we lost something precious Can we offer up a tax credit? Little bags of shrooms? Start a wizard van painting program at vocational schools?

every other post of r/DrivingAustralia is someone asking a question about how to use a roundabout which is troubling but also explains a lot about driving around Sydney

well we already know what to do about climate change but it will make a few hundred fossil fuel corporation executives sad which is unacceptable so I guess we need to consult the wishing tree banger from Fiona as usual

Ezra Klein asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about AI making kids worse at math and reading. Huang’s reply: “Does it matter?” Then he said he doesn’t know his own address or phone number. “We’re going to lose some fine intellectual dexterity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/o...

if LLMs kill people, and I specifically am using that term because they are not AI, it's because irresponsible people have allowed them to saturate the internet and choke legitimate human activity so that they can be personally be enriched so yes it's possible but this is not Skynet it's just spam

Owen Jones@owenjones.bsky.social

How the hell would AI actually kill us anyway?
