The question of “does everyone deserve equal protection under the law?” is a very clear litmus test for good vs bad politics

Well, that's a new one. "College kids should be able to vote to overcome the wishes of the people who actually live in the place where they go to school"

DC implemented a new policy for its streeteries that cost restaurants $20,000 to implement. The result: virtually every restaurant eliminated their outdoor dining, many have reduced their hiring, & now a few cars can park more easily. Congrats on the successful policy change, DC government!

51st.newsNew rules mean many DC restaurants are closing streateriesThe District made streateries permanent. But restaurant owners say the rules are too costly and complicated to keep them up.

This is a tremendous program that helped launch my children’s love of both reading and Dolly Parton. Thank you for help to make this program possible

10 years. 3.6 million books. 103,000+ DC children served. 📚 Books from Birth started as the first law I passed — and today it’s helping nearly 31,000 kids build home libraries across DC. Proud to celebrate this milestone with @dcpubliclibrary.bsky.social today!

Now wait a minute, I can recall some very smart pundits recently telling liberals to stay away from the immigration debate and focus on ‘kitchen table issues’ because it was Trumps strength. Is it possible they were wrong?!!? What else could they be wrong about??! Is it possible people have values?!

I have the utmost respect for Senator Kaine and Senator Warner but we do not need “coaching” on redistricting coming from a cuck chair in the corner. How about you all stay focused on the fascist in the White House and let us handle redistricting in Virginia. 10-1

I am very worried the MAGA movement is going to negatively polarize me into liking Reagan

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

Here’s the original clip of Ronald Reagan from April 25, 1987, where he delivered a complete and total rebuke against tariffs. Trump's calling Reagan’s words here “FAKE” and “fraudulent.” They’re 100% real. And the original clip is actually far worse for Trump, as much is left out of the ad:

some guy off the street: "yeah this is pretty fucking bad" most of our green room pundits: "ah but you see, trump has an advantage on crime so democrats should be careful not to sound too opposed"

Just leaving the scene of yet another neighbor being taken today. Delivering food to a neighbor, stopped, surrounded by multiple agencies of law enforcement and arrested. No pretext.

It’s good to see state-level Democrats embracing the notion of dual sovereignty. DC doesn’t have the privilege, but this sends the right message to Federal agents operating outside of the (local) law

Krasner: So, if what you have is a group of ICE agents, or even the military, coming into Philadelphia and committing crimes—assaults that are illegal, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, obstruction of the administration of justice—they can be prosecuted.

You are up to date.
