This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode the deficit. 3) Demand cuts to vital programs that help millions. 4) Repeat. They're trying to get away with it again.

A vote like this feeds cynicism about the Democratic Party not being real and not being about what they purportedly stand for. It’s pathetic that some of our senators are still not operating as a unified opposition to all aspects of this authoritarian regime.

Last night, 16 Senate Democrats voted with Republicans to advance a crypto-friendly bill that will enable Trump’s corruption. Instead of standing up to Trump, these 16 Democrats decided they’d rather do a big favor for the crypto industry and legitimize an avenue for Trump to collect bribes.
