Tapper: Where would the money come from for Trump's $5,000 checks? Speaker Johnson: "It's a new, creative idea…We applaud the president for thinking outside the box."

Very cool, a nice memorial to the lost lives.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, it is refreshing to see the latest technology being used to help us through a difficult time, rather than mining our personal data to annoy us, steal our identities, rip us off, and interfere with our elections.

It’s mind-blowing that we have literal white nationalists in the White House carrying out unfathomably cruel, abusive, white nationalist policies, and the punditariat has spent the last two weeks debating if some people were too intemperate after a Black man was murdered by cops six years ago.

"The Constitution was not designed to restrain a president as evil as Donald Trump." - Ty Cobb, former member of Donald Trump's White House internal legal team (2017-18).

Never stop talking about the Epstein Files. Never stop talking about the Epstein Files. Never stop talking about the Epstein Files. No matter what happens, it can’t be forgotten.

Gah! More influencing the market from POTUS. What a corrupt administration we have. "The best grass?" I think not; that would be OG Kush or Dream Queen. LOL.

And there it is … bsky.app/profile/acyn...

We need a Nuremberg-style trial in 2029. We also need Congress to pass laws rather than rely on "norms" and "guardrails" to ensure nobody like Trump happens again. Stop authoritarianism in its tracks. Stop corruption in the White House. Please.

Marco Rubio is against birthright citizenship. But Marco Rubio *is* a birthright citizen. Ted Cruz is against birthright citizenship. But Ted Cruz was born in Canada. He only got US citizenship by a birthright citizenship law because of his US mother. They are both shameless hypocrites.

Eddie Glaude: Stephen Miller is a racist. He’s a white nationalist. White nationalists have seized the federal government. Great Replacement Theory motivates this immigration policy. We need to call them for what they are. This is a white nationalist agenda and these folk are simply rabid racists

For seven years, I did exactly this. Where's my video? (Not kidding, but in all seriousness this is a great demo.)

The arguments given in the dissents were horrid misinterpretations. Look, I know SCOTUS knows the Constitution far better than I ever will, but the black dude says it was only for blacks and the originalist dude says we'll "pollute" ourselves if we allow it? Wut?

Just shocking this was a 5-4 ruling. This Court is so so badly broken.

Staggering levels of corruption. They’re using every possible lever of power to enrich themselves and their friends and families. And the “party of fiscal responsibility” simply doesn’t care.

The Albanian people have been massively protesting for several consecutive days against slumlord crook Jared Kushner and Crimestress Ivanka seizing land in their country to the sum of billions of dollars to build a trashy resort. I hope they don’t stop until their evil corrupt deal is reversed.

The heart of our constitutional crisis in one exchange between me and Sec. Mullin. When asked a simple question - if he will obey court orders - he says he will not because some court orders are "politicized". That's not how democracy works. And that's why we are in a crisis.

Sadly, not wrong. "Graft and corruption rife." (Old desktop gaming reference, if you go back that far.)

Brett Shaw@brettshaw.bsky.social

Corruption in plain sight. It will take a decade to fix this debacle. #TrumpCorruption

Many people quote the Sermon on the Mount: "Blessed are the peacemakers." I love it. Although I'm a non-believer, I agree. However, I can't help being reminded of: "Blessed are the cheesemakers." "What's so special about the cheesemakers?" "It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products."

That sound you hear is me, slapping my face as I say, "No!" in a sarcastic voice. Trump won't ever admit that her "failure" to get revenge on his enemies was because his enemies were in the right and neither he nor Bondi had a case against them.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com The core of President Trump’s dissatisfaction with Pam Bondi as attorney general “was apparently her failure to serve his need for revenge against his enemies,” Jeffrey Toobin writes in a guest essay about Bondi’s firing on Thursday.

Completely peaceful where I was, too, except for two randos driving red trucks with Trump flags flipping off people and almost running someone over.

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

AOC: I have to tell you, in my traveling across the country, I am hearing and have been seeing consistent things from everyday people. And it is that they are terrified, they are frustrated, they are angry, and they are shocked by a president violating the values that we hold dear

This is where Dems have lost ground in the last decade or so: focusing on being "correct" versus helping people. Of course, we should correctly acknowledge everyone's view of themselves, but Dems forgot all people's self-view includes their personal economy. They're starting to remember.

Though they hail from different wings of the Democratic Party, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani and moderates Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger all won big last night. The unifying factor? Their focus on cost-of-living issues. More on #playbookpod: pod.link/1169056746/e...
