Things I saw from the train: A field folded in two Water organised in lines Two farmers kissing A kissing gate The wind fighting everything Broken fields stitched together with power lines Crows tumbling through gaps in the air An archdeacon dithering A sad ghost (reflection?)

New official work: Kubo and the Two Strings 10th Anniversary for Laika Studios. Made at Empire Design. I'm thrilled to share this piece which was a joy to design and create. It pushed the boundaries of what I thought I was capable of but it ended up being my most favourite piece I've ever designed.

Listening to Radio 1’s New Music show; they go into in-depth descriptive raptures about tonight’s ‘Hottest Record’; and then every single other song they play is absolutely miles better

The mayor of Saint-Denis, Bally Bagayoko, literally used himself as a human shield to protect students from police violence

'Catastrophic': Swiss glaciers lose 20% of mass in five years. Swiss glaciers saw 5.5% of their volume melt away just this year, the second-biggest melt on record, Glacier Monitoring in Switzerland (GLAMOS) network reports u.afp.com/S9B2

Gently bingeing ITV’s 1980s Sherlock Holmes adaptations. Just watched The Norwood Builder, where we first meet Inspector Lestrade as portrayed by Colin Jeavons, perhaps the only performer versatile enough to present Play School and also play Adolf Hitler

The amazing thing about the 80s ITV Holmes is I saw this reply out of context and thought it was about Suede

Enjoying Brett’s signature move of swooping vampirically to the ground to look for footprints

There is something unheimlich about Richard Madeley

Jamie Smart@jamiesmart.bsky.social

Ever since hearing Richard Madeley’s story about how he nearly choked to death, it really annoys me that if I ever choke to death the last thing I’m going to think about will be Richard Madeley.

Must be loads of these, eg. Most of Herbie Hancock’s work does not sound like Rockit. Early Steve Miller Band is much more interesting than you’d expect if you only know Abracadabra/The Joker. As a big fan of the Boo Radleys up to that point I hate that Wake Up Boo is what everyone knows them for.

Bobby Lee@bobby-lee.bsky.social

Bands that don’t sound anything like the one or two songs that everybody knows: 1. Dr Hook - Not the cuddly soft rock balladeers, actually a bunch of perma-stoned wrong’uns who wrote songs about getting VD. 2. Chairmen of The Board - One good time pop-soul hit and albums worth of deep funk burners.
