I really wish there was a way to tell Cursor to prefer intellisense completions over AI completions when available Too many times I tab to insert the completion only to find that another row was changed because of AI

Very interesting read While reading it I had a thought - why do we have <input type=“radio”> but <select>? Why not <radio> or <input type=“select”>?

I find it baffling that the React team insists on separating between RSC and SSR, when clearly for the majority of people they are one and the same

I've still never shipped an ssr app 🤷‍♂️ They definitely have their place but it's just one of those things where the needs of the 1% drive the fashion for everyone else

How do you manage mocks in your tests? Do you store entire objects or just the values accessed by your code? Specifically mocks from 3rd parties. When testing modules that need external data, I often need to create mocks so that our tests don't rely on said 3rd party.

I'm thinking of shrinking them to only what's being accessed, but then in the future if we ever use a property not found in the mocks we would need to go and refresh all the mocks.

OTOH, having entire objects (which sometimes can be 100 lines long each) makes it so it's super hard to tell whether mocks are uptodate or not.

I end up with mock files that are thousands of lines long to simulate the different cases for the tests, which become very unyieldy very quickly. I usually simulate the test case with the 3rd party enabled, copy the response object and save it in a fixture file.

But in order to simulate many different cases I end up with 10-15 permutations of the same object, all slightly different from one another.

When determining if I can use a feature, a baseline of 95% in caniuse is usually fine Below that I’ll go and check out analytics to see what browsers my users use Below 90% is usually a no-go zone, unless it can be easily polyfilled

If caniuse says 95% I am usually fine with that, if it’s around 90% I’ll go and check what browser versions my users use and polygill as needed

Sometimes I feel the algo here gives a bit too much priority to reposts. Too often I see 25 reposts right after each other, of the same person. That almost forces me to unfollow them.. Especially if it’s all similar things, and things I don’t like. What’s your feeling?

I was skeptical of Apple’s new motion cues feature in the iPhone, but it freaking works I frequently get nauseated if I use my phone on the bus, but I feel a dramatic improvement with this thing on

I wonder what makes @bsky.app decentralized *now* I see many people bring it up, but I can’t see why Can you setup indie servers and connect? Can you store your posts in a DB you own? Bluesky is open source which is great, but that does not automagically imply decentralized
