I'm here for joy, not doom, not politics. Reader, editor, quilter, hermit, ignores most dms (but not from Maggie because she has Linus stickers). If you complain about entire generations of humans, I will block you.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

If you ask for black coffee and the cashier asks if you want cream or sugar I promise it's not because the cashier thinks you're stupid or because the cashier is stupid. It's because the cashier regularly has to deal with people who ask for "black coffee" and then complain there's no cream or sugar

A friend texted me this picture today along with the message: "Thank you so much for these wonderful things that continue to provide me with joy year after year." That's what success looks like to me: spreading joy that lasts. 🥰

It's the penultimate traveling farmer's market Saturday and they had quince. I bought all of the nicest looking quince and said to the cashier: I'm trying to not be a quince hoarder, but it's hard! She said: "Most people don't know what to do with quince. And I may be one of those people." 😂

Prophecy: If our species makes it another 100 years (I have my doubts), people will look back on how we've treated osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis with the same level of horror that we look at early surgery and childbirth techniques. Breakthroughs in science are amazing!

@repricklarsen.bsky.social Imagine what we could do with all that money focused on civil rights!

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.
