decided to work on another creepy atmospheric song...very early industrial, very Coil/Throbbing Gristle this one is called to summon birds

it's cool I can say to my kids "hey let's have breakfast/lunch in the library" I actually need a few more bookcases. I have seven in there now, but still books without homes

Spent the dawn reading Sara Langan's Tradwife in my library damn this book is great also? Turning my dining room into a comfy library and reading room was the best decision ever.

We run our hands across blocked doors, blocked windows. Psychic tactilism. Fingertips trying to discern some temperature differential, some subtle power at play across the stones. Feeling for ghost gateways, spectre trajectories. Feeling for temporal leaks. – #DAKilroy

Contracts are signed so now it can be told: my dark fantasy? horror-ish? story "The BFF" will be published in Reactor! Though lead times being what they are it won't appear for quite while, I'll shout about it when the time comes

this is from the folk horror zombie novella trilogy idea the titles Coil Spiral Spoil

from today's writing- She came to the secret grave every October, on the anniversary of her namesake's death. Both of them named Piper Shadow. A woman she dreamt of since she was a child but never actually met, other than in family photographs scattered about the house like black and white secrets.

Release day for Cris Morris’ new occult detective book! I had a great time illustrating the cover featuring a scene from one of the first Cornelius stories. The creepy little doll made of mud is my favourite part. Available on the ‘zon, keep an eye out for the next volume too !

oh crap this week is going to be intense I owe two videos and a podcast episode I promised and I have a nine hour reading and in person book signing/sale going on Saturday send help

wrote a little over 1k in that novella trilogy folk horror zombie thingy. Feels good to write again after not for awhile. Shaking the rust off

ps if you're wondering why the Chainsaw awards say 5 hours still to drop, it's on Shudder tv, not on the streaming

thinking three novellas (a trilogy) for that idea, titles maybe (MAYBE) one word titles spoil spiral coil That might be them or something like that

Vernon: ok so as you know, blorbo is a beloved character from the video game Glubbobo's Edifice: The Dark Legacy Chronicles Vernon: where he's known as a morally conflicted badass with a checkered past King: that's what we love about blorbo! Poe: yeah, there's never been a character like him ever!

still thinking about last night's #HorrorWatch and Night of the Living Dead and how effective that credits sequence is...even decades after I first watched it, and I watched it SO MANY times (2-3x a year, easily, if not more) it loses none of its power

the zombie is not a zombie how we think of as zombies. It's going to be weird and interesting and very cool. It's kind of a spin on @ramseycampbell.bsky.social the Influence, kind of a spin on the old sorcerer's apprentice story type & kind of a spin on living dead but mixed up w gnarly folk magic

next book ideas gathering brewing coming into shape a zombie story of sorts, with witchcraft and folkhorror and dark fantasy I don't want to say anymore than that, don't want the AI to gobble my idea up. But it's really cool

"Ethical" AI models is an oxymoron No matter what they do, or who they ask for help, this cannot exist as they were implemented using stolen knowledge and everything they do perpetrates & imitates the worst impulses of their creators Glorified cheaters & hackers trying to crack humanity's code

well, that's another #HorrorWatch for the fire. What did you all think? I've loved this film since I was a kid. So unsettling, so vibrant, so terrifying. Electrifying.

Such a terrifying unsettling film love it so much it's so interesting to compare this ending with the ending of Train to Busan. it's almost the exact opposite they're going to kill the survivors, they think they're zombies and then the little girl starts singing. And it saves them #HorrorWatch

goosebumps. This ending. And the still photos it feels like watching something yuo shouldn't watch. The hooks. It's like the old postcards of lynchings they'd trade in the south #HorrorWatch

I love how once the terror kicks off the classical music is all replaced by weird electronic music and it doesn't go back it's a perfect choice #HorrorWatch

years before Carrie and years before Friday the 13th this movie lures us in with a calm, peaceful moment. The sun rising. A sense of reprieve #HorrorWatch

this movie never says WHY they kill they eat without killing, so it's not just for food but they desire murder, for some unknown reason maybe the dead hate the living, and must consume it out of fear and hate #HorrorWatch

I think the reason why most zombies in nonRomero films feel less terrifying is that Romero's direction for the undead was perfection no one can imitate it #HorrorWatch
