Introduction time (for real!). My name is Nils, and I've been a #GameDev since January 2022. I didn't expect to land a job as Localisation QA (especially at Nintendo), but here we are!! Expect the following if you choose to follow me: 📸 Amateur photographs 🎮 WoW and many other games 🎨 Art reposts

To honor one of the studios that defined PC gaming, we've republished more than 20 articles about BioWare today. The pcgamer.com homepage is dedicated to interviews, retrospectives, and making-ofs about some of the best RPGs of all time.

However hard you think it might be to keep pushing and doing your best while the industry you love so intensely crumbles around you, it’s a trillion times harder. (And this isn’t just isolated to game dev)

Been playing Bioware games for over 20 years and it really sucks to see it shut down. I'm hoping for the best for all the devs Fellow fans, be sure to check out North Mist Studios, Summerfall Studios, and Yellow Brick Games and keep an eye out for where other devs might land and support them!

I hope workers in other game studios see WoTC unionizing, and see the mass layoffs and BioWare closing and decide it's time to put their foot down. What do we have to lose by unionizing? A job that you're afraid every day you'll be laid off from anyway? UNIONIZE THE GAME INDUSTRY!

"I wonder why they had to do it (shut a studio down)" THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO!!! THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO

I used to joke that if I got an euro every time someone asked me if I had worked on Dragon Age, I'd have enough money to buy Bioware. Ha, I wish! Playing DA: Inquisition was a turning point in my life, it helped me find myself as an artist and I will never forget that. Pretty sure it still shows!

Love the idea, let's start a train of art inspired by Bioware games ❤️ These stories mean the world to me, its characters inspired me for years, the artists and writers behind them literally helped shape my artistic journey. I am thankful for everything you've created 🫶

In the wake of the news... feel free to quote with your art, fic, edits, etc. to show our love! Salutes in chat for the end of an era 🫡 Dragon Age truly is ours and no one can take that from us.

In 2016, we published potentially the largest single feature to ever appear in Game Informer magazine with a full oral history of the legendary studio, BioWare. We've made that feature available online following reports of the studio's impending closure. gameinformer.com/feature/2026...

it cannot actually be ignored or danced around that the closure of BioWare came so soon after the Saudi and Jared Kushner acquisition of EA. they absolutely did take the studio making EA’s broadly queerest games out back and shoot it old yeller style. do not let yourself or colleagues ignore that

Had my first therapy session yesterday! I'm quite optimistic about it and can't recommend it enough, those waiting lists are worth it! 😊

Solidarity with our collegues at #Fishlabs who are getting laid off. They have to pay the price for #Embracer 's mismanagement. Another dark day in the #gamesindustry with a studio full of talented people becoming a victim of unsustainable greed. bsky.app/profile/vert...

but on the other end of tonight im beyond thrilled (/s) that i have to yet again deal with being the topic of conversation

A visit to my grandparents, and my grandmother especially, always makes me feel very rough. It's in the little gestures and way they speak that I can notice it won't be very long before these visits will stop. For me, especially living in another country, this is particularly painful. So, yeah: ow.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing an essay, writing a eulogy, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing for 5,000 years.

I would simply like to live my quiet little life as a trans woman and buy fruit and sing and walk my dog and wave to my neighbors and watch movies and use restrooms without being the subject of a culture “war” where both political parties agree I’m a disgusting freak who doesn’t deserve civil rights

This might be a good moment to also announce that PMG has been following the Blizzard unions through this process for nearly two years now and in early 2027 you’ll be able to watch our documentary on the fight that took place to get this historic contract over the line.
