I know it’s really distasteful and dispiriting and gross to think about, but you won’t understand Trumpist politics or the status of women if you don’t understand that a lot of people aren’t just in denial about the prevalence of rape; they are affirmatively pro-rape.

I know that Bluesky is a very serious place but I have to brag that I bought my daughter’s Mardi Gras ball dress used online for $17 with shipping. Of course it needs to be shortened (she’s 4’9) but what a deal! Pardon the psychotic expression on her face.

Newsom withheld *legislatively appropriated* school AC funds for 2 years. Now he's handing them to a fossil fuel company, the week after half a million kids had their school day changed by extreme heat. If that's not Trumpian, I don't know what is. Shameful. calmatters.org/environment/...

calmatters.orgCalifornia lawmakers let schools' AC funding lapse, handing $191 million back to utilitiesDespite sweltering classrooms and a heat wave, the state chose to return unspent CalSHAPE funds to ratepayers.

When you put it that way…

I'd only be worried about a Trump coup if... a) They fired all the professional generals and replaced them with loyal hacks b) They brought Nat'l Guard troops from pro-Trump states into DC until 1/20/29 c) Trump was building a massive bunker with drones next to the White House wait a minute...

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

There's no way he legitimately won all swing states, but those who did vote for him again, are still at least 80% at fault. And we are all paying.

I'll summarize this: Mamdani asked NYers to keep air conditioning at 78 degrees. A wave criticism hit online. A MSNBC broadcast pointed out the US Department of Energy recommends that 78 degree figure. Immediately after, the US Department of Energy deleted 6,000 web pages related to energy saving.

So they (the Trump administration) are trying to force disabled people, like my beautiful, funny, loving daughter, into institutions. We can’t afford to flee the country. What do we do?

Persephone and I saw Obsession last night (we have amc a list,so can see 4 movies a week). I wish they’d leaned a bit harder on the whole this is actually rape thing. Persephone looked away from the kissing and sex. We both enjoyed it overall.

Persephone and I saw I Love Boosters on Tuesday. It was a bit more on the nose than Sorry to Bother You, but still told the story in a delightfully bizarre way. I’ll be buying the dvd. Persephone was yicked out by the sex scene, but she is disgusted by kissing, so that was predictable.

He only cared about ONE thing...how it looked on TV. Enough has been said regarding the impossible healing job...not enough said about the depravity it takes to kill your followers to make good television.

I wanna point out something serious. The admin has been complaining about Iran winning the information war. This same administration shut down Voice of America, and other information operations the US govt does. It’s a self goal. Actions have consequences

if the Justice Department and federal judges are willing to set the bar for “providing material support to terrorists” this low—an encrypted group chat, auto-deleting messages, wearing black, possessing zines—what the Praireland defendants have been through will likely be just the beginning

Breaking news: A jury convicted people who protested outside an ICE facility in Texas of providing material support to terrorists, and other charges in a closely watched case in which the gov't argued the protesters were "Antifa". www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Well that’s terrifying.

I had the weirdest dream. Todd Stashwick ran up to me at Walmart yelling “I’m not Diedrich Bader!” I yelled back “you’re Todd Stashwick!” He kept yelling “no, I’m not Diedrich Bader” and I kept yelling back “yes, I know, you’re Todd Stashwick.” I woke up feeling confused and a little harassed.

I used to be a CPS investigator and when I tell you that our entire child-rearing culture grooms kids for abuse, know that I say it with a deep well of rage for specific children who were trained not to say no to adults in 1000 small ways AND told nothing about their quote-unquote "swimsuit areas"
