“We’re not here for trouble… we’re just here to see our family members.” Outside Delaney Hall ICE prison in Newark on Day 4 of the hunger strike, a 10-year-old whose father is detained inside confronts masked guards, asking why they won’t show their faces. WATCH @jordanchariton.bsky.social LIVE ⬇️

“Whole Civilization will die tonight”—the horror. THE HORROR. When that civilization is the Persian civilization at the core of some much of our collective civilization. And coming from this second (rate) beast.

This is the man Senators who present themselves as serious human beings are going to rubber stamp into the office of Director of Homeland Security. Show some self-respect and some love of country and vote no.

Holy shit. These people shouldn’t be near sharp cutlery, let alone seats of power. Mullin: “This is war.” Raju: “You concede this is war?” Mullin: “We haven’t declared war.” Reporter: “You just said it’s a war.” Mullin: *stammer

The US and Iran have obviously not been at war for 47 years, as regime propagandists tell us. What has been going on for 47 years is the Saudi-Iranian regional proxy war. So the propaganda defines us as a Saudi proxy state.

And here we all are at the beginning of WWIII. Interesting how much a distraction it is from Trump's involvement in the biggest sex trafficking ring in the history of the world 🌎 EVER. Release the fully unredacted Trump/Epstein files. NOW.

Ossoff’s statement is 1000x stronger than Schumer-Jeffries. This is a moderate Jewish Senator from a Trump state. The split isn’t moderate vs progressive, but leading vs poll-reacting

Abolish ICE, abolish DHS, redistribute the other agencies, prosecute actual criminals, such as people who commit execution-style murders of Americans in broad daylight.

On the execution in Minnesota: Obviously, the individuals involved should be held accountable. But responsibility goes to the top of ICE and CBP, and DHS. Their appropriations come up next week in the senate. Not a cent for DHS without pulling ICE and CBP off the streets, in MN and everywhere else.

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights. There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us. This is my favorite guide.

The term “law enforcement” should not be used by media, except perhaps in quotations. It has sadly become an Orwellian term that is used to magically sanctify violence. Language matters. Be specific. Describe individuals with names and ranks. Say exactly what they did. Don’t repeat fascist hocum.

Friday, January 23 is a National Day of Solidarity and push for corporate accountability, led by Minnesota organizers and national allies. It’s a great day to take a sick day and smoke a jay. Non-violent protest takes many forms. #handsoff #nationaldayofsolidarity

if i was running a political party and every time my opponents held power they started illegal wars for oil and crashed the economy i would simply say that repeatedly

“Can’t believe NYC elected a Muslim as mayor.” In truth—a Black American Christian woman swearing in a Ugandan American Muslim of South Asian ethnicity as his Syrian American wife holds the Qurans he swears in on, all while standing on the steps of a subway station—is the most NYC thing imaginable.

I just taught my lecture course on mid-20th c US history, which starts with Harding and concludes with Nixon. For the first time, I had to pause and stress that those scandals were actually shocking at the time and, what’s more, that Americans actually demanded people be held accountable.

All of the money that changed hands in the Teapot Dome scandal totaled less than $10 million after adjusting for inflation, and it was considered so corrupt we still teach it in high school government classes a century later.

With the Epstein case, we either end up in a world where pedophilia, sexual assault of children, and human trafficking are endorsed by the United States of America, or we hold every single person involved in these heinous crimes accountable. It appears the Trump regime is trying hard for the former.

Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake. I voted NO.
