Little did we know that the Etruscans were doing sculptures of Victor Wembanyama ~2500 years before he was born.

Greeks: sculpture is about the ideal body, perfect proportions, beauty through which we can experience th— Etruscans, over in the corner:

I think it's less that and more the fact that stuff actually went backwards on policing, the democratic party basically entirely abandoned any reformism and switched to tough on crime and talking about how police were the best heroes ever

Out on the town having the time of my life with the other Ohio Republican political candidates who thought the ad buy was a good idea. They’re all just out of frame, laughing too.

Forever grateful that my grandparents had one computer they only checked when absolutely necessary for emails, no internet, and my grandfather continued to use a typewriter to send us letters and write manuscripts.

I’d never really experienced it much before but holy shit now I know what people mean when they say the Republican Party has a penis envy problem

That's the American with Greek great-grandparents difference

Don Bolduc, the Trump-endorsed Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire in 2022, and a group of other Republicans and independents have endorsed Democratic Rep. Chris Pappas in the state's upcoming Senate race. www.axios.com/2026/10/15/c...

I need Talarico to win. Yes because I live in Texas but more importantly I want to see these losers melt down over a Democratic win in Texas

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

JD Vance: "I love you too sir. In a totally platonic way, to be clear. I'm the vice president, not James Talarico."

Switching things up by phonebanking for Angie Nixon and so far it's much better organized than Talarico's which is promising. I know she's polling behind but I think that if she had more money she could really do it

among MANY other differences in many other instruments, baroque era violins were constructed/shaped differently and played with bows w/ a convex curve so if a show or movie has a scene with a violin set before ~1810 and the bow doesn’t look kinda fucked up, it ain’t right

Beyond being used to carry water for antisemitism, what the hell does the Epstein class even mean? Epstein and his associates obviously belong to the upper class but his associates don't form a separate class that's not how that works

If you want to talk about the political elite or patriarchy then you should just say that. There's no need to make things so convoluted unless you're just mindlessly repeating what you hear other people say or you have ulterior motives. Most people fit into the former but a lot are the latter

This seems like an appropriate time to remind people of the 1990 book, Fraternity Gang Rape, by the anthropologist Peggy Reeves Sanday, who was my favorite professor in college and unfortunately passed away last year.

when i say i want abolition, i mean that nearly every judge and prosecutor in this country deserves a century of experiencing what they blithely assign to others who weren't lucky enough to have their indiscretions, perversions, and outright heinous crimes buried for the sake of their futures.

"well," the general secretary said, "do you think humankind has ever really achieved justice for any of the genocides in its history?" and the citizen, taken off guard, coughed up some of the sandwich. "well, anyways," the general secretary continued. "the regime's purpose is up to its citizens."

Unfortunately a prescient reminder

ESPN had Ted Cruz on 'College GameDay' in a conversation with Rece Davis for nearly 10 minutes. Cruz was heavily booed by the crowd -- and heard "Ted, you suck!" chants -- in Austin.

My father in law is a TV producer. We were watching a variety sketch comedy series several years ago. I asked him what it would cost to make it today. I will never forget his answer... "We can't, we don't know how to do it."

There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival. Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on. (Source: Deadline)

I'm still optimistic but I think perhaps cis liberals/leftists could maybe try to have some sympathy for those of us who are a tiny minority whose deserving of rights and access to medical care is constantly under question even from allies in the name or hardline pragmatism

I think cis people fundamentally do not understand how lifesaving gender affirming care is and how existential the threat of it getting taken away is even if trans surgeries on minors don't happen/his voting record says otherwise/maybe he's lying. Ofc I will be voting for him in November but like
