If, as expected, Democrats sweep this election, the already growing movement in MAGA to repeal the 19th amendment will get louder. It's tempting to dismiss this as just talk. But while they can't just end women's suffrage, this movement is dangerous. www.salon.com/2026/10/26/m...

Earlier this year, SIECUS joined a coalition challenging the Trump-Vance admin’s attempt to gut proven sex ed programs and replace them with an ideological “body literacy” program that promotes abstinence-only rhetoric, spreads misinformation about contraception, and erases LGBTQIA+ young people.

In 1934, we added a gender-neutral pronoun for a single third person. ‘Thon’ was short for “that one.” It didn’t catch on.

🚨 In 2026, SIECUS tracked 39 bills introduced in 17 states to censor materials in schools and libraries—only one of which passed. This follows a record 12,000 book bans in the 2025-26 school year.

I worked on a "landmark" case w ED OCR & DOJ expanding IX to include LGBTQ students in 2009. DOJ argued school district failed to stop bullying against a gay student for not conforming to traditional male stereotypes. Case clarified IX prohibits discrimination based gender stereotypes. Heartbreaking

This is the freakiest gender affirming care out there.

Contract to represent unaccompanied minors given to ex ice agent accused of sex trafficking.

instagram.comwashingtonpost on Instagram: "The Trump administration has awarded a $158 million contract to represent unaccompanied migrant children to a nonprofit group calle…"The Trump administration has awarded a $158 million contract to represent unaccompanied migrant children to a nonprofit group called Our Rescue, which was founded by Tim Ballard, a former immigration agent who left the group in 2023 before being accused of sex trafficking. The contract is with the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which oversees the care of minors who cross the border without authorization and without a parent or guardian. The award could increase up to $244 million, the contract notice showed.Ballard is a former ICE agent who quit his job and embarked on efforts to rescue children from sex trafficking rings in countries including Colombia, Haiti, Mexico and Thailand. His work was loosely fictionalized in “Sound of Freedom,” a 2023 film that drew acclaim from conservatives.Others criticized the movie for catering to unfounded conspiracy theories. Ballard abruptly left Our Rescue in July 2023. Three months later, a group of five women filed a lawsuit in Utah state court alleging Ballard had coerced them into sexual acts as part of his trafficking rescue missions tied to the organization.A separate federal lawsuit in 2024 accused him of sex trafficking and forced labor. Both lawsuits remain active. The Office of Refugee Resettlement and Ballard’s attorney did not respond to requests for comment.Read more by tapping the link in our bio.

The Trump-Vance administration recently terminated 53 of 67 TPP Program grants, intending to replace proven programs with abstinence-only programs that erase LGBTQIA+ young people, spread medically inaccurate information about contraception, and promote “fertility” as a core outcome.

The Trump-Vance admin wants to replace programs proven to reduce teen pregnancy with programs that exclusively promote abstinence-only, erase LGBTQ+ people from education, and push medically inaccurate information about birth control. We stopped this unlawful effort before, and we'll do it again.
