So much gratitude to the @britfantasysoc.bsky.social and to Glasgow for a warm, welcoming, wonderful con with so many fascinating and thought provoking discussions - and celebrations! So grateful to you and your active, passionate work for art and conversation. ❤️ And yes, we had the *best* time. ✨

Emily was so excited to see that the Legend John Jennings (she asked us to say it that way) had a short window for character commissions, she felt we all needed some joy. Her request: GHOST LIGHT does whatever he and the artist most want. She hopes you'll enjoy the result. @jijennings.bsky.social

Please tell me I'm wrong, but it appears the official SFWA StoryBundle being sold right now does not contain a single BIPOC author?

Emily is very excited to be doing a reading and panel at Fantasycon, and especially celebrating Wolf's Path by @jolantru.bsky.social alongside Wolf, in person. Also, Emily is ready to explore her topic with sensitivity, but also nods to the BFS who clearly noted, "I bet that woman's been drinking."

Not just sitting around... actively protecting the spaces they have privileged access to, denying that CWN are in their own spaces, and erasing and attacking any white person who speaks out while using the necessary caution of black Americans as their justification.

What have you done to combat Project 2025? It's so disappointing (but not surprising) to witness White America now, just sitting around, witnessing the gradual but stead implementation of a literal Christian White Nationalist policy overhaul throughout our federal govt. www.project2025.observer/en

Yesterday, Emily forgot to eat, drink fluids, or take meds. Instead, she received a stream of unsolicited DMs with some really hateful words. We will find a path forward. I've asked her to stay off of social media entirely. Right now, she needs rest, friends, and support.

Ha, the downvotes on my cover are sneaking up. I would be so honored for you to read my words. This poetry collection took me 50 years to create, and I am very proud of it. I feel blessed, truly blessed, to finally be the storyteller I always needed to be. ❤️ #BookSky

It's not true. As I've told you, I've tried to obstruct misogynoir and transphobia and have years of receipts they won't look at. It's clear I can't convince people at this point, so I'm not going to engage. The press will make a plan forward and it clearly can't rely on Ang-NA genre at this point.

I can't read the Sanford article (I think I'm blocked? not sure) but I assure you it's not true. I don't harass him. I don't talk to him. He's never once listened to me or seen my evidence. This is a very very bad thing to do and I hope people see that.

As an award-winning data analyst and strategist in my past life, and someone recently featured in Publishers Weekly for my activism, I can tell you you're never going to solve author income through sales channel analysis. It's who holds the microphone and whether we're allowed to talk about it.

Publishers Weekly@publisherswkly.bsky.social

The survey found that only 25% of print books and e-books read in the past month were bought new or through a paid subscription, with readers increasingly turning to low- or non-royalty generating channels to access authors’ work.

You can see this through high-followed accounts who choose to post about their own high sales but delete and delink and unfollow the people in the fight for everyone.
