Who should own analytics: IT, the business or both? www.cio.com/article/4229... It’s an age-old question. But it generally has an easy answer in my experience: 1) IT owns the platform 2) LOBs own the insights/KPIs 3) The entire business owns + shares the data

Climate.us is officially live! After NOAA ended Climate.gov’s day-to-day operations in 2025, former team members built Climate.us to carry that work forward. Their explanations and graphics have always stood out to me as clear, accessible, and transparent. I’m really looking forward to this reboot.

Growing up in Tennessee (long ago), it seemed like only a matter of time before coal (for sure) and other fossil power would be phased out for a combination of #nuclear and #hydroelectric. Tens of GW of new fossil power in 2026 feels like a betrayal... 🤦♂️ www.utilitydive.com/news/tva-pro...

That seems to match my intuition. Everybody running their own 1GW+ power plant doesn't seem like a path to long term sustainability for anybody. Eventually, their shareholders will start asking whether power generation is really/still a business differentiator... www.utilitydive.com/news/large-l...

And, there you have it. Unless she's wrong about what's happening or why, that's a #DataCenter story that will resonate with people and be cited over and over as part of data center backlash efforts. Will every data center project result in such harms? No. Could many? Yes. Could they do better? Yes!
“My childhood home is being taken by @GeorgiaPower to supply power to a new data center…” 🤔 They are now seizing people’s homes in Georgia via eminent domain to build power lines for a $17 billion data center. One has been forced into Utah. And xAI in Memphis. And on and on.

Finally someone says it outloud. When my son was in College, we used them once, and never again after that. Their customer service and way the treated passengers was beyond horrible. Everyone I talked to that ever used them had similar stories and experiences. www.cnn.com/2026/05/04/b...

Not sure this could get much worse. Utah isn't exactly known for having lots of water to spare, and now they want to use fossil fuel to generate multiple gigawatts of on-site power as well? #NoThanks
Backers of the massive data center campus say at full buildout it will consume 9GW of electricity, more than double the entire state of Utah’s current energy use. They say they intend to burn fossil fuels on site to make all that electricity. Box Elder County will vote on the proposal Monday.
