GOD: Here’s the big do’s and do not’s. There’s ten of them. GOD A LITTLE BIT LATER AND SOUNDING STRANGELY DIFFERENT: Also cut off the tip of your penis. It pleases me when you cut off that ugly bit of your penis.

Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too. Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course. – George

Everytime there’s some sob story about a cop or a soldier who’s wandering around feeling sorry for himself over all the lives he’s ruined this post starts getting likes again, for whatever reason.

Look do I like that my job makes me harvest children? No, of course not. Do I like that the company I work for is the #1 child harvester on earth? Doubly no. But I had no control over any of that when I took a multi-month application to work at Child Harvester Inc.

Absolutely maddening to see the corruption in real time and then also see BlueAnon losers in the replies trivialize it by pretending the same thing is going to happen here "but worse"

We are watching a coup d’état attempt unfold in real time in Brazil. I’m consumed by desperation.

Liberty Biberty landed on my car and it was totally fine. We actually became really good friends. He came to my kids’ ballgames. Helped around the house. Swell guy. Then the diagnosis came and things just have not been the same.

Just gonna say that if you’re tired in your bones of Cape-shit and you’re hungering for art that explores what it means to be human in a world shaped by the hands of a tiny few individuals holding enormous power with conflicting worldviews, this is THAT BITCH. Gillen keeps raising the bar.

Once more, we're on. Out January, THE POWER FANTASY #18. "Where we consider the big issues, like if you could travel back in time to kill baby Hitler, would you? How about if Hitler was actually a lovely-if-self-obsessed artist who killed the world by accident? Also, Jacky Magus panics."

Election 1: I vote for the 49% evil candidate over the 50% evil candidate Election 2: term-limited out, I now have two new candidates, one 99% evil the other 100%. I vote for the lesser of two evils. I now have a 50% more evil leader than previously despite voting for the lesser evil every time

"Online Rent-a-Sage" Bret Devereaux@bretdevereaux.bsky.social

It is, fundamentally, an exercise of choosing the lesser evil, over and over and over again, so that the total amount of evil in the system decreases over time. And you must keep doing it, because - since evil is easy - good is easily reversed.

I'm not in this shit to see how many people can get a government job with my favorite letter after their name. Grow up This is about fighting for human liberation and building power for the working class. I'm tired and have things to do, if that's not what you're offering then get lost

it cannot actually be ignored or danced around that the closure of BioWare came so soon after the Saudi and Jared Kushner acquisition of EA. they absolutely did take the studio making EA’s broadly queerest games out back and shoot it old yeller style. do not let yourself or colleagues ignore that

Wish dipshits like Alan would just say how many votes Dems should expect to get for doing this. People like Alan always act like they’re just being Shrewd Pragmatic Politics Knowrrs but never want to say what the calculus is for votes-gained to votes-losses when Dems do this shit

It’s obviously terrible that some Democrats have caved and tacked right on trans rights. But I don’t think we’re going to see the Democratic Party impose the kind of discriminations that Labour supports. And I think the party’s base is meaningfully pro-trans rights enough that it’ll shape 2028.

bsky.app/profile/asel... It’s actually super suss the frequency to which Alan rides out to defend anti-trans rhetoric almost like he’s got more in common with the anti-trans people than he does progressives.

Alan Elrod@aselrod.bsky.social

I want to add here that I think Mona has held a fairly small-l liberal but conservative view on trans rights over the last decade. And while I still strongly disagree with her, she never deadnames or calls trans women men. And she doesn’t support this admin’s horrible attacks on trans people

Stepping out of the Time Machine to find everything exactly the same as when I left it meaning I was SUPPOSED to get flustered and ask if there was a Mrs Gavrilo Princip instead of doing my damn job.

Normalizing public + televised executions as 2/3rds of the country bay for your blood is certainly a move to make right before all your supporters get swept out of office.

Looks like Brazil’s flirtation with strongman politics is not over. Brazilians seem hell-bent on turning democratic backsliding into a recurring feature. But it's still early in the process. www.theguardian.com/world/ng-int...

I ask you again: what insight or new information am I supposed to glean from a right winger that I haven’t already heard a thousand times before? What new thing am I supposed to learn that I didn’t know before when I sit down with the Nazi?

At the risk of doing social media wrong, lemme suggest folks engage with what I wrote, rather than the 280 character summary. There's plenty to disagree with in the actual piece I wrote, but it's of a different nature than some of the reactions I'm seeing to this thread.
