to me the existential threat posed by AI slop games is less "AI slop games will steal our sales" and more "the onslaught of AI slop and the exhaustion over having to second guess every new game will make people mentally check out from supporting new games at all and retreat to their backlogs"

people in deadlock rly enjoy claiming people who are doing bad early game/being walked down early game-- when trying to NOT engage heavily btw-- are braindead and coming from marvel rivals huh. god forbid ur lane partner actually helps with a problematic opponent to help u back off lmfao

im glad i had an ivy who was like "wow i didnt know we were playing ranked" after the 4th time this guy whined abt me (I EVEN AFTER I SAID WHAT WAS HAPPENING)

anyways its just another day of "People who play team games try to actually help and work w their teammates and not bitch challenge (impossible)" im him. ive been him. and i will continue to BE him (drifter) suck my ass

my early game as drifter is > grab Rend first > sneak around enemies > pop up and Rend > back off and wait for cooldown while firing from a safer distance if im being hunted down bc they turn and start attacking me while im trying to run, maybe uhh idk, help?

like ive covered for people/engaged enemies while playing drifter or venator so my lane partner could zip back to base and heal. Why the fuck couldn't you do that for me??? lol??? it's a team game, why aren't you working with your team? LOL

like picture this. im a late game character (drifter) being hunted down EARLY GAME by a hyper aggressive baba / yamato while VERY CLEARLY trying to back off. One of these two can 100% hit me from a distance so i die. What does my lane partner do? whine that im "pushing" (i wasnt)

My friend made a cool game on a game jam and within a month a slopclone of it is on Steam. This is happening every day for indie devs and I hate it.

Deadlocks character design in both visual design + each characters kit/animations just shows that too many devs are cowards in terms of what they put in their games tbh

Apex could lean into so much for their characters (and they have for the most part in more recent years, i.e. caustic getting extra perks for looting deathboxes & loba picking vault locks) but idk. It feels like some characters dont have as much edge as they could?

That could be bc of EA tho- or. all the layoffs... oh well. but man i really would love to sink more time into Deadlock, it's come a long way since i first played before the graphics overhaul. i just cant juggle a billion games like i used to lmao

So many of Deadlock's characters are so on-the-nose about their concept, and yet, they somehow just blow you away every single time you try a new one. The newest ones especially. The ideas for each characters' movesets & even reload animations are just so full of personality.

It's crazy to think all of these characters can exist simultaneously. It's like- some could definitely get overshadowed, sure, but none of them feel particularly bland. If they do, their voice lines/writing make up for that. obviously tho, deadlock is still in its playtest phase, so they have time.

at the end of the day its just best to avoid hp. that means - no hate-watching the movies/shows/etc. Even via pirating. They look @ all numbers - Dont play the games / watch musicals - Dont make fanart/fan projects or support them. - Dont even go to Universal. She makes residuals off the tickets
